Definitely ZXC is an issue.
Honestly though, the problem isn't a huge deal... you just need to re-adjust, but for me it is just a turn off.

What I'm saying is that, it isn't as bad as most people make it up to be.
I belief that Razer could have done better, but did not.
Can.
But on the ultimate, no lights and no macros.

For the expert, I can't say for sure since I don't have it but I'm pretty sure macros won't work too for the on-the-fly recording.
So if you're willing to fore-go macros, go for the expert... get a PS/2 adapter, and walla! Awesome keyboard for RM280.
*
I won't let the macro function if i get either bw expert or ultimate.
No point to buy it anymore. If fore go the macros why not just go for 6Gv2, das, deck, ducky filco or whatever. More switches can be choose.

Yup, it is meaningless to get bw ultimate if macros are off and no backlighting. Perhaps you need full NKRO for certain games.

BW only fail ZXC and any combination more than 2 arrows, means 99% of usage won't be affected except you playing o2jam or djmax.

cant the BW use a USB to PS/2 converter to achieve NKRO?
*
Cannot, BW is 2 KRO. A USB connection has a maximum of 6KRO unless helped by special software, so it has to overcome that 1st before being able to have NKRO. The cost of making the keyboard NKRO would be expensive anyway and more bw targeted buyers want a USB connection so no point.

Exactly.. so, take or gift.. The Black Widow (either Ultimate or Expert) could have been the best keyboard released this year if Razer could have done more.
I'm currently on a DAS Model S pro now actually, awesome keyboard. Even if it's loud as hell! tongue.gif

not really, after convert to ps2 should be more than 6kro.
and the chance for cant press more than 6 keys is very minority since still got anti-ghosting effect.

The bw wasn't designed to handle NKRO. So just using a USB to PS2 adapter won't give it NKRO capability.

Even the Deck Legend USB version doesn't give you NKRO even with USB to PS2 adapter. Because the controller sux :/

Only FILCO/Ducky/Cherry g80-3494/Steelseries 7G have NKRO via USB to PS2 adapter.

I heard plum keyboard can achieve NKRO via usb without the use of PS2 or adapters.

would you reach a conclusion then, that the Steelseries 7G, even though a MUCH older model, excels in where the Blackwidow Ultimate fails? :/

I never means it will be perform nkro. Just means the optimization will help to overcome some problem due to 2kro.

haha correction, 7G no nid adapter, it is PS/2 port. (when i bring back hometown use it for my laptop still need PS2 to USB converter)

I won't conclude like that lo. They are just 2 different keyboard to fulfill different people's needs.

Well depends.

BW is using cherry mx blue switches, whereas the steelseries 7g uses cherry mx blacks. Depends which you prefer.

But overall i think the steelseries wins because of NKRO support. Even using just USB it has 6KRO which is more practical for gaming compared to 2KRO.

In terms of aesthetics i think the BW looks good (except for the glossy finish which makes it harder to keep clean/nice)

Finally, we have N-key rollover. The BlackWidow doesn't have full n-key rollover, but is optimized for gaming. As such, it is sufficient for most gamers.

NKRO Test:
ASW - YES
ASX - YES
GHY - YES
ASDF - YES
JKL - YES
ERF - YES

In fact, almost all realistic combinations have 3 key rollover, and a few have four. The QWEASD, WERSDF, and YUIHJK cluster all have 6 key rollover.

Some combinations without 3-key:

CXI - NO
XVI - NO

And so forth... as you can see they aren't commonly used combinations.

still more expensive than the BW Ultimate

and you sacrificed lots of things just for the NKRO

and its not like you can't absolutely press more than 2 keys on the BW,
its as optimized as all the other membrane "gaming" keyboard.

well, i have to agree with that, but i just pointed out what people should go after.

Well, i did missing one point, Budget, i agree it is more cheaper.

As for performance, i meant for full performances, as you can play RTS games as well as FPS games, since 2KRO in FPS games, some certain keys won't function.
also, i have to agree with other users here pointed out that BW keyboard is meant for RTS games, not FPS.

As in terms of NKRO, well, i'm users of 7G, i don't really see as we have to sacrifice alot(in my view), since other functions are merely such as extra functions, such as macros and extra buttons, depends on users that use them or not. i met a few users that brought keyboards and mouse with extra buttons, but never use them, because they are more comfortable with manual clicking on each key.

Macros is indeed a good function, but as you moving from places to places, you'll have to carry your keyboard around from places to places and having to save your macro and bring the data to traveling. for me, i felt quite abit pain in the ass to rely on macros to make my life easier, But still, i can't say macro is bad, because i'm currently using Gigabyte GM-M8000X which has internal memory of recorded macros, so i could just bring the mouse, plug and play, doesn't even need to install specific drivers for the mouse to have macros functions.(save alot of work because once i finished setting the mouse, went to cybercafe, plug in the mouse and play game and use macros, doesn't need to install anything.)

Okay, for traveling issue, i'm more comfortable traveling stuff that doesn't have glossy surface, since bring in and out from bags, you have highly chances of it being scratch and that is a big no-no for me, If BW doesn't have glossy surface, and more resistant to dust and scratch, i would consider of buying one for traveling usage. Because in my thinking, Macros will become very important once you learned how to use them, but when you traveling around, it's much more better if the gaming product is more scratch and dust resistant. Glossy looks very good, but once scratched and heavily use, you won't be thinking about taking the keyboard out anymore when it is filled with scratches, dust, finger print.

So, if peoples that are depending on macro and always traveling around for gaming, if you planning to buy BW, i would suggest avoid using it for traveling around.

Sorry for the repost, but need a little help with this:

Does anyone know where I can get Daskeyboard in Malaysia? Or, if not, how can I get it? Must join those "buy from US" threads?

Oh, and on the other hand, I'm a complete beginner to mech keyboards, so can anyone recommend a better alternative to Daskeyboard? I'm looking for a relatively quiet kb, and perhaps even a little more emphasis on design?

Brown or blue switches... Hmm... Hard decision.

I love the sound, but at the same time I use the computer a lot during the night and my family is sleeping...
