Morning guys,
Actually you'll able to get Filco kbs from Retailers. Unless the area you staying in really doesnt have one
By the way,
What you guys think about this ?

Personally i think Whole set white colour or black colour looks better, maybe it's just my tatse, but i don't prefer keyboard to be too colourful(i meant on the casing of the keyboard, not about the keycaps)

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Nov 10 2010, 09:11 AM)
Font looks nice (although since i don't read/write chinese i would prefer just regular US letterings. However could be useful for others.)

I tend to prefer black casings. However the coloring seems to have been done nicely doh.gif

Is it NKRO ? And what key print does it use ? ABS or PBT keycaps (doesn't really matter which, just wondering).

The keyboard wire seems to be missing. Is this a detachable cable like the Ducky keyboards ?
ps: cyclone i added you. I didn't know you were a mechanical kb veteran  notworthy.gif
Anyway ripster from geekhacks has made a guide how to remove and install keycaps for cherry mx switches, topres, and alps.
http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:12649

I'll pin that to the first post.
By the way whiterice from GH has received the Signature Plastic custom made double shot keycaps

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

He is going to separate them out for 50 ish people and ship them out. You can tell that they are double shots because underneath the keycap is a different color of plastic. These caps letterings won't wear out. The only con is they are abs and can eventually shine, but as long as letterings don't wear, i'm happy  laugh.gif  can't wait to get mine
*
Maybe the keyboard is has a wire management underneath the keyboard.(so the wire that connects to keyboard is underneath too)
do note the picture was taken while the keyboard is standing(notice the shadow)

Yes, Double Shot is one most durable if it's compared to other method of font lettering on keycaps. There's one more con, When used over a long period of time, not only it becomes shiny, you can actually feel the edge of the both plastic meets. Well, that's not really a con, but something like your personal taste, some find it annoying.

Thanks for the latest updates, but the last picture should be removed or resize, as well as put a spoiler tag on the pictures. Picture is too big for the forum to handle.

From my point of view, the keyboard must be atleast 4KRO, but for my own i'll choose NKRO over any of those.

since hotkey and other key combination is also consider important as you're doing making hotkeys to customize so things you use will be more easily accessible.

Lacking of those basically makes you(me) just wanted to type the keyboard with only one finger(each finger on both hand).

So far I would say Filco should be the most worth it if you consider only the typing experience. The quality is tried and tested.

I don't know if you can get it under RM400 though.
*
i think he can, there's a filco distributor in singapore called niceday company link : http://www.niceday.com.sg/

but i hope he has stocks there thou. FILCO should be around RM400, maybe like RM350~450. so they could purhcase one i think.

figuring the price should be same or higher than Singapore Filco distributor, since the intake ammount is lesser so their cost is higher(i doubt this) So setting price would be higher. And profit for oneself, the price will be higher right? plus shipping?

well, that is just a wild guess, still needs storm to announce the price to clarify.

RM400 to 450 then I will consider it reasonable.
But now got some interest on Topre switches also.
*
topre switch are kinda hybrid between membrane and mechanical switch, btw, the switch should either abit similiar to blue but a completely different feel in clicking it. btw, compare to the hybrid technology, the cost for one keyboard is kinda overprice. just look at those HHKB keyboards, i can only look afar and only pray the price would drop one day.

any idea where can buy and whats the price for filco's full set of key cap?

i like the blue version but i don't want the chinese on the keys
*
sorry to pop your bubbles but... the new set of keys that you purchase separately from the keyboard are not coated, so the font lettering will wear out faster compare to the filco keycaps that comes with the keyboard(please do note the difference between these is that the filco keyboard that you purchase will be coated, and if you buy separated keycaps, those keycaps will not be coated)

so please reconsider when you purchasing them, because the lettering will wear out alot faster, i would only advice you buy blank ones rather than those with lettering/font

QUOTE(phantomash @ Nov 26 2010, 12:15 PM)
still more expensive than the BW Ultimate

and you sacrificed lots of things just for the NKRO

and its not like you can't absolutely press more than 2 keys on the BW,
its as optimized as all the other membrane "gaming" keyboard.
*
well, i have to agree with that, but i just pointed out what people should go after.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Well, i did missing one point, Budget, i agree it is more cheaper.

As for performance, i meant for full performances, as you can play RTS games as well as FPS games, since 2KRO in FPS games, some certain keys won't function.
also, i have to agree with other users here pointed out that BW keyboard is meant for RTS games, not FPS.

As in terms of NKRO, well, i'm users of 7G, i don't really see as we have to sacrifice alot(in my view), since other functions are merely such as extra functions, such as macros and extra buttons, depends on users that use them or not. i met a few users that brought keyboards and mouse with extra buttons, but never use them, because they are more comfortable with manual clicking on each key.

Macros is indeed a good function, but as you moving from places to places, you'll have to carry your keyboard around from places to places and having to save your macro and bring the data to traveling. for me, i felt quite abit pain in the ass to rely on macros to make my life easier, But still, i can't say macro is bad, because i'm currently using Gigabyte GM-M8000X which has internal memory of recorded macros, so i could just bring the mouse, plug and play, doesn't even need to install specific drivers for the mouse to have macros functions.(save alot of work because once i finished setting the mouse, went to cybercafe, plug in the mouse and play game and use macros, doesn't need to install anything.)

Okay, for traveling issue, i'm more comfortable traveling stuff that doesn't have glossy surface, since bring in and out from bags, you have highly chances of it being scratch and that is a big no-no for me, If BW doesn't have glossy surface, and more resistant to dust and scratch, i would consider of buying one for traveling usage. Because in my thinking, Macros will become very important once you learned how to use them, but when you traveling around, it's much more better if the gaming product is more scratch and dust resistant. Glossy looks very good, but once scratched and heavily use, you won't be thinking about taking the keyboard out anymore when it is filled with scratches, dust, finger print.

So, if peoples that are depending on macro and always traveling around for gaming, if you planning to buy BW, i would suggest avoid using it for traveling around.

well. i planning to purchase one keyboard for traveling purchase, mostly it would be this Ducky keyboard that i will be getting this few days later.

for for keyboard weight this heavy, it's design for heavy usage because the back plate is steel, which is not PCB or anything so it's kinda heavy, but i have to compliment that this keyboard can receive some punishment and abusement and still survive.

QUOTE(jasmineivan @ Nov 27 2010, 10:45 PM)
If you keep bottoming the key, what i think  is 7G as noisy as BW.

But after you keep typing with it, to minimize the typing consumed energy, hand will automatically adapted and use less force and become silence and silencer. After that, i type on 7G is much much more silence than most of the membrane keyboard.

Keep bottoming the keys very tiring lo, at least i not willing to do so.
But some time i use it to ply SDO is super noisy.
*
hahaha. yeah i have to agree on that one.

Well, that is my bad actually, because i used to mechanical keyboard for a long time, because i use old ACER keyboard which is ALPS switchs, those keyboard are noisy as hell compared to current all cherry mx switch type.

For my, i don't really bottoming out the key most of the time now, but it's still a habit that i need to change. laugh.gif
