6850 better in terms of power consumption, as its only use 1 6 pin cable

guys, if im not wrong, the 6850 and 6870 is not meant to replace 5850 n 5870 right? it's suppose to be 6950 and 6970?

I will say HD 6870 slighly better than HD 5850.... slower than HD 5870 its not a successor but CHEAPER + power efficient
HD 6850 replaces the HD 5830 which really really crippled card.. Slower than HD 5850 (but not much)

Reason why ATI/AMD (whichever name you prefer) decided to name the 6800 series as they are right now is because the HD 5770/5750 is selling very well. AMD doesn't wanna hurt the sales by naming the product HD 6700 series. But I still think it should be named 6700. Anyway... I wonder what Cayman X 2 will be called....
Sice Cayman will be = 6900 will the X2 be called 6900X2 like the 4870X2?

Just checked with C-Zone in Digital Mall, looks like the promo for ATI 5850 at RM 599 no longer valid. That price is only valid for PC bundled packages... Looks like they can't afford to make a lost on that... too bad, no more 5850 for me...

then buy somewhere else... or get the 6850 coz the price is same right..

price is one thing... what matters to me is performance - not on game but on distributed computing... 5850 pawns even 6870 in Collatz, yet it's cheaper...

HD6870 still worth-it with the price...IMO...I used it and managed to play my game at Maxed setting in Battlefield BC2 & Crysis

Are you kidding me? bro do more research carefully, on stock clock 6870 is still slower than stock 5850. 6870 becomes SLIGHTLY better than stock 5850 after it is overclocked (yeah 6870 is not overclock friendly). But if you want to compare OC 6870 VS OC 5850, man 5850 win way too far, remember 5850 is overclockable to 5870 performance.
