Radeon HD6900-Series 1GB Version gotta rocks!! 2GB Version is pointless to begin with actually since the GPU actually not fast enough to fully utilize it. Moreover, it's super rare to see people is using Eyefinity(super high resolution) for gaming. Thus, 2GB Version is lame.

QUOTE(ahsiah @ Jan 20 2011, 05:56 PM) I think AMD just confirmed they will release 6950 1GB at USD 279. Not 6970 at USD 279. i see, still a gud buy for 1080p gamer, 6950 is a tad better than 5870 rite?

1gb 6950 hrm... sound delicious, so now more reason not to buy 6870 ?
USD 279 ~ RM 865...
well basically 2gb of video memory is not pointless, in fact when you have a lot things to render in a frame, it would be extremely useful and not to said complex item.
a lot of people going for eyefinity already, you will be seduced by it.

Lol kinda true, I just wonder if that the price point in our stores is ok, nothing too close to the 2Gb versions and not too far from the 6800 series maybe? if its too close for less than Rm100... then I think might as well go for the 2Gb version.. who knows when u will need eyefinity 4x so until then just keep the beastie at bay till the day its needed

Most likely the price of the ASUS EAH6870 DirectCU would be over RM800, as ASUS cards are normally priced much higher than other brands. If that's the case, and the HD6950 1GB is about the same price, then you'd be better off getting the HD6950 instead.
