QUOTE(ahbenchai @ Oct 29 2010, 10:14 PM) Well... Overclocking is extremely easy especially with processors that have unlocked multipliers as you won't have to mess with any other thing else other than that thing. You can always start off by increasing a mere 10MHz to the bus speed |

QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Oct 30 2010, 09:58 PM) U lazy people, here are the pricelist, can be found at Lowyat.net front page if you look around...not the forum, but the web-page itself btw.. I wouldn't recommend getting the price list from lowyat.net as they are usually outdated and rarely updated.http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/czone.pdf http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/cycom.pdf http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/jayacom.pdf http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/pczone.pdf http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/startec.pdf http://images.lowyat.net/pricelist/viewnet.pdf About that promo 5850, that's something to grab for CF'ing... It seems some 5870/5850 owner's including myself are pretty quite about their GC despite all these 68xx talk...but for sure the silence will be broken once 69xx is out. Go... www.compu-zone.com www.pczonecomputer.com www.cycom.com.my www.jayacom.com.my www.viewnet.com.my www.digitalmall.com.my ( For ALL IT pricelist ). |

QUOTE(ahbenchai @ Oct 30 2010, 09:59 PM) why do different brand of hd6870 cost so different Well.... Depends really. They could have a different warranty length, e.g 3 vs 2 years, the distributor decided to jack up the price for a particular brand, the shop decided to do the before mentioned, and many other factors.arent they using the same chipset, all same reference cooler also only sticker dif, haha |

QUOTE(Dickong @ Nov 2 2010, 07:47 PM) Just got my Sapphire hd6870 but playing COH with jagg line before that nothing wrong can anyone using 6870 help solve this problem, i might try to reinstall window later, need some input to solve this problem, any sifu can help. Jagged lines across the screen? It may be a symptom of overheating. Download HW-Monitor by CPU-ID and monitor the temperatures of your HD6870 |

And 450W supports up to a HD5850 |

Bottleneck is present in every single system.
So yes, there will be bottlenecking here, but not very much |

QUOTE(KepalaRadio @ Nov 6 2010, 08:54 PM) Okay since bottlenecking is present in every single system, will an AMD Phenom X4 955 suffice or would i have to get something better, ie the i5? You should play every games available pretty well |

There's no problem in doing so. You do not need two cards with identical coolers to CrossfireX / SLI.
You will need the card in the same series though e.g HD5800 Series. |

Starcraft II is a pretty processor-intensive game, so the better the processor, the smoother the gameplay.
Have you tried unlocking your Phenom II X3 720? |

That's one helluva big passive cooler there
But I don't see why can't it be used in our country. As long as the chassis has a good ventilation, then we're set |

Oh my god. I just asked Zalman Tech about a custom cooler for the HD6870, and apparently the Zalman GV1000 ( Zalman VF1000, but nickel-plated & red LED fan ) is compatible with it! It's even compatible with the HD6850.
Gosh, for RM210, it's seriously worth it. <3. Guess I will be getting myself a HD6870 very soon @AlphaBeta, if you'd like to try unlocking the Phenom II X2 555 to a quad core, then go with it. It's cheaper than the X3 710, and much more worth it IMO. But if you don't, then go with the X3 710 then, otherwise, seek for a used Phenom II X4 955 BE at the garage sales which should be pretty cheap now since a new one only costs RM440. |

Well. I'm not sure on how old it is, but I think it came out 2 years ago? I got it 2 years ago I believe it should cool a HD6870 pretty well. Has my 9800GT idle temps at 43C and load temperature at a maximum of 64C ( fan always minimum, never used it pass minimum speed before ), at a clock rate of 760MHz Core, 1830MHz Shader and 920MHz ( 1840MHz when multiplied ( 2) ) I'm amazed at this cooler's compatibility This post has been edited by TDUEnthusiast: Dec 2 2010, 10:48 PM |
