When u install kies, is the driver automatically installed as well? On 1 pc, I can use mass storage w/o problem. On another pc, I can't use mass storage mode. It is not detected.

the modem file should be a '.zip' file. use cwm in doc rom (which is pre-installed) and select 'install file from sdcard'.. locate the file and flash it. good luck

Ya, trying now, still monitoring it.

Btw, try both Papago X5 & Ndrive this morning to work nearby KLCC, the accuracy of the GPS really disappointed doh.gif I think have to accept the fact.

Just remembered they said Nexus 2 which in rumous to be made by Samsung have GPS hardware problem same as SGS, that's why they delay the launch date, i think it is true that SGS have faulty GPS hardware.

WhatsApp seems to write its history onto the /sdcard/WhatsApp. This is the 1 which was causing the lag.

Is there an option to format this sdcard partition into EXT4 as well? biggrin.gif

Lost my radio presets again. Anyone facing this problem? sad.gif

From http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756

QUOTE
This kernel has:

- Based on JPM Froyo kernel and modules from XXJPO initramfs
- Works on all stock Froyo ROMs XXJPO/XWJPA and popular custom ROMs
- 341MB RAM and all features should work e.g. 720P recording & playback
- Includes sztupy's Universal Lagfix
- Includes neldar's BackLightNotification 2.2 (Ver Jx.2)
- Sharpness & color fix for UI, inspired by supercurio's work on Voodoo
- SpeedMod: Replaced kernel jhash2 with jhash3
- Adjusted kernel HZ value to (hopefully) balance battery life & smoothness
- Uses BFQ IO scheduler by default
- Updated ext4 code in kernel from http://www2.kernel.org/pub/linux/ker.../ext4-patches/
- Optimized compiler flags: -mcpu=cortex-a8 -mfpu=neon -mfloat-abi=hard -fno-gcse -fprefetch-loop-arrays --param l2-cache-size=512 --param l1-cache-size=64 --param simultaneous-prefetches=6 --param prefetch-latency=400 --param l1-cache-line-size=64
I am currently testing the latest speedmod-kernel-vK1-300hz.zip kernel..

I came from JPM with super-optimized kernel, and before that I had the universal-lagfix kernel. Since speedmod kernel builds on top of super-optimized which in turns builds on top universal-lagfix kernel (I think), no data or apps were lost when I 'upgraded', even though I had originally enabled lagfix, kernel_tweaks, and misc tweaks via the recovery mode menu.

Performance wise, since I only had speedmod kernel for 2 hours, is pretty good.. slightly quicker than super-optimized, I think. The reason I moved away from super-optimized was that the later versions (> 3.3) has overclock/underclock features which seem to be causing weird problems for me and also draining my batt quicker.

Battery-wise, can't say yet. Need 1-2 weeks of monitoring to be sure.
