In case you are wondering why you cannot turn it off, it has more to do with the law stating that camera phone must produce sound to avoid perverts from taking naughty pictures.

just try uninstall NOW if u already have it installed... then snap some photo before and after.. check the file size u will know... for me i think it should restore back to original once u uninstall the mods, IF it's not then please trigger me so I can make another .sis for restoration.... nod.gif

Hey guys, this is good news,

I was trying to install the mute camera sound mod file to my N8 for testing (previously the mod is for N97)..and guess what? it works!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

How to mute your Camera Shutter Sound?

1. donwload this file --> http://www.4shared.com/file/yAzriVSU/mute-camera.html
2. sign it with your cert & key
3. Install the file trough Ovi suite or PC Suite
4. Restart your N8

Dont need to set the Profile to Silent. Just turn off the warning tone will do the job icon_rolleyes.gif thumbup.gif

can 1-2 ranger verify this tongue.gif

This means without the Camera Silent Application, there is no way the sound can go off?? Nokia did not enhance this issue? This should be highlighted.

This is not an "issue"
Most of the manufacturer prevent users from silencing the phone camera sound so no "stalking pictures" can be taken.

as my experince with N900 i guess no issue to silnce the shutter sound.. but N8 u mean u need at another software just like 5800 ?
