Hey guys, this is good news,

I was trying to install the mute camera sound mod file to my N8 for testing (previously the mod is for N97)..and guess what? it works!!  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

How to mute your Camera Shutter Sound?

1. donwload this file --> http://www.4shared.com/file/yAzriVSU/mute-camera.html
2. sign it with your cert & key
3. Install the file trough Ovi suite or PC Suite
4. Restart your N8

Dont need to set the Profile to Silent. Just turn off the warning tone will do the job  icon_rolleyes.gif  thumbup.gif

can 1-2 ranger verify this  tongue.gif
*
confirm the warning tones method not working

This means without the Camera Silent Application, there is no way the sound can go off?? Nokia did not enhance this issue? This should be highlighted.
*
If i am not wrong in malaysia law camera phones must have sound and light to show you are taking photos. This is to prevent people to take candid photos. Thats why APAC firmware you cant disable without hacking. If you use european firmware it can be turn off by warning tones.

Correct me if i am wrong.

as my experince with N900 i guess no issue to silnce the shutter sound.. but N8 u mean u need at another software just like 5800 ?
*
because Nokia N900 do not have APAC firmware so its not bound by malaysian law.

but then wouldn't the picture be affected in low-light?
*
depends amount of the low light. Xenon flash have a limited range and the flash make photo look white. So i prefer it without flash so either u use night mode or increase the ISO

Hope that clears your doubt

im sure there is a option to turn off the flash, even my 5800 and N900 has the option to turn the flash off.
*
Flash can turn off anytime but we are talking about the sound and a light blink when u take photo

1) depending on firmware
2) Malaysia firmware u unable to turn off as default.

Option 2 to signed apps

1) Signed using computer

2) Connect your phone to your computer via pcsuite or ovisuite

3) After signed just run the file it will auto prompt to install on your phone.

Pros
Faster

Cons
Will make a big mess of files everywhere if u copy to your phone u can compile and bring your apps on the go to share with others
