For Nokia you're stuck with whatever OS that your phone comes with.They won't upgrade the entire OS only provide firmware updates probably because they want the best troublefree tested OS for the phone.

But I expect things to change with MeeGo.If you have delved into Maemo's world you should know that we have our own saying:"If the OS is imperfect,we'll try to perfect it ourself"
This is the main advantage of open source.The open community is capable delivering stable working OS to end users.So far they have delivered fully working new Maemo OS for Nokia 770(IT) & Android for N900(New update coming soon)
Symbian is also open source but I don't see much people developing the OS because it simply lack power that MeeGo/Maemo/Android offers.

But in future I do hope that Nokia will follow other company way of giving full OS update choice instead of bugfix.We'll know more in November.

Bro, you are talking about android there, and talkng about HTC, and talking about upgrading os from ver 2.0 to ver 2.1, technically a 0.1 version increase that most probably fixes bugs and add some new feature, but essentilly the same. And HTC also out nice disclaimer when you want to upgrade also. If it weren't for the XDA developers, HTC would have been dead in the water - Because they are so lousy at doing that.

Nokia also fixes bugs and I like their firmware updates before because it normally really comes with big bug fixes. I know of no other company that manages, through a firmware update increase the speaker volume of my 5310 flat Xpressmusic phone. Or fix the N95 showstopper memory problems.

Aiyah..If you guys spoiled by colour choice just disassemble the phone & bring it for the powder coating.Can choose rainbow colour also if you want.
But of course the colour don't last as in anodized aluminum.

it is like you buying a car with gearbox problem.. u have to perfect it yourself.. and the manufacturer do not cover the warranty of it.. probably entire car also they don't cover you...

it is like a bunch of developer paying money to the manufacturer and Help them to perfect thing out...

but i got a case...my friend cannot detected if his hand is cold enough...
because the static already "insert a word here" under air-con. that's why when we are in shopping complex sometimes...we get static shocked sometimes...

Also the sticker shows made in finland sticker on box and yup you are right from imei number the 2 digits in center shows where is it made from....
stickers can be fake but not imei number

Symbian have few similar forum like XDA developer before... but some of them already like close ship and the original owner jump ship to Android... how sad....
