Camera so many people here can test. I tested other things.

1.Hdmi out works with sound and all, although the Tron trailers got very jarring color transitions - might just be highly compressed video or a sacrifice made due to tech constrains.

2. Gps is a beauty - especially with the default ovi maps - voice navigation, fast locking time. You also could report problems with the map - Not sure if this was implemented before since I didn't notice this while using e72.

Why does everyone complain about wanting Nokia to integrate full flash? What would be the point?

Sure, it's called flash lite 4.0. Playing Youtube videos no problem for me. Simple ads like one in websites also no problem for me. I think that would be enough for use on a Mobile Phone! So why on earth would you integrate a full blown, resource hog implementation of flash in a device running on batteries most of the time?

Unless you need a selling point - like android. 1.6 add some feature. 2.0 add some feature. 2.1 add some feature. 2.2 add flash as feature.

In the interval, HTC says thank you because you buy 4 phones from them.

I currently am using two devices, my iphone 4 and the n8. One has to go, and currently I am putting both head to head to see which one would be for my long term use.

I consider myself a platform agnostic person, so I don't really have a preference. If anything I have pretty much wrote off android as platform of choice. In the end I would think it would just boil down to what you want to do.

For now, write me down as grey user.

Why android better than symbian?

1. You can give all your personal data so google can better sell you stuff.

2. You can learn how to hack your phone so you can do stuff that you should be able to do out of the box.

3. You could learn about food.

Just wished that Nokia would finally, absolutely and really overhaul the input. Not the core function, just how the os interacts with people.

Doing this on the go at times square. Guess why I double post things.

Most reviewers agree that the camera is the best there is. Most complaints centers oh the os's ui, if anything.

There is something to be said about Nokia vs the other phone manufacturers. I'm not saying that Nokia is perfect in this regard, but it's the only manufacturer I know that regularly comes out with firmware for their more popular models and supporting it until it's EOL. A few of my experiences :-

1. XpressMusic 5310, i think, the slim XpressMusic phone - A firmware update manages ton increase the volume of the speakers, which was quite soft before.

2. The update that turned N95 from disaster to popular.

3. The endless E71 updates.

Based on that track record, I think Nokia is going to improve the whole N8, seeing it as the flagship model that's supposed to replace N97 with regular firmware updates. Good thing is they have a knack of putting upgrades that visibly improve the phone's function.

Set up an exchange mail server and you get push mail what? And the one giving you that free push mail now is Hotmail. As long as your phone can support activesync protocol you have push mail.

That includes Iphone, Nokia phone, Google phone etc.

It doesn't matter what type of plan you are on, if you want email on your phone, you would have to get a data plan no matter what type of email you have, blackberry, push or pull.

Blackberry is superior with push email because your phone maintains a connection to Blackberry servers just like your phone maintains gsm connection to celcom/digi/maxis. Once the Blackberry servers, continously monitoring your email accounts finds out you have new emails, it sends the email to your Blackberry. This is what Nokia Messaging service is trying to copy, but in my experience, there are still a lot of glitches that Nokia needs to iron out before Enterprise customers are willing to trust their solution. Plus some email servers don't work with Nokia Messaging, but works perfect for Blackberry.

Yes gmail works well. The kicker is, gmail relies on a service called Activesync, which is the product of good old Microsoft.

No, you don't have that included in the box, unless you buy certain phones like the x6.

the point is they don't want to officially support if there is anything wrong..
not like other.. like HTC etc.. they have upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1 Eclair... it is official and not void anything....

Nokia are playing Tai Ji with u in this aspect...

Bro, you are talking about android there, and talkng about HTC, and talking about upgrading os from ver 2.0 to ver 2.1, technically a 0.1 version increase that most probably fixes bugs and add some new feature, but essentilly the same. And HTC also out nice disclaimer when you want to upgrade also. If it weren't for the XDA developers, HTC would have been dead in the water - Because they are so lousy at doing that.

Nokia also fixes bugs and I like their firmware updates before because it normally really comes with big bug fixes. I know of no other company that manages, through a firmware update increase the speaker volume of my 5310 flat Xpressmusic phone. Or fix the N95 showstopper memory problems.

Yeap..is like 300m turn right..Im ardy turning right..the gps is still pending...That's the problem Im facing..Please advice guys..
Oh ya...is it possible to install Garmin in to the N8?
*
That only happens with my ip4 and papago. Never had i any problem navigating using ovi maps, in fact the n8 navigation to me is perfect.

Check your settings. Faster lock means you need to use a-gps. If map loading is what is killing you, preload your maps. They are free for download.
