You can run the gnome-panel on startup. Just add the program in Sessions in Preferences. Otherwise you can also use Alt+F2 to run the program, then don't need to leave the Terminal window open.

QUOTE(Da_Shiang @ Jun 6 2007, 08:11 PM) i cant open my add/remove and synaptic !! Are you removing Amarok just because it can't play MP3? If that's the case, you need to download the Mp3 codecs. Do this :how to make it able to open? and my amarok got problem. cant play mp3. edit: when i wanted to remove amarok, it gives me this CODE jimmy@jimmy-desktop:~$ sudo aptitude remove amarok Reading package lists... Done Segmentation fault (core dumped) jimmy@jimmy-desktop:~$ 1. Click "System" -> "Administration' -> "Synaptic Package Manager" 2. Search for "libxine1-ffmpeg" and then mark it for installation 3. Install the above-mentioned package into your computer 4. Fire up Amarok again...and you'll be able to play your MP3s Cheer! |

hi guys, i've got a problem with the live cd. I've tried burning the cd at the lowest possible speed but still there's always a missing file when I checked the disc for errors. I've tried d/l Xubuntu and also encountered the same problem. therefore, I cant install Ubuntu. I've used torrent and also the direct d/l and the same thing occurred. Any idea to what seems to be the problem? My dvd writer is LG GSA-H42N and the disc i used is HP. The program i tried is infrarecorder as well as nero

QUOTE(c9 @ Jun 18 2007, 09:31 AM) I use sudo openvpn --config client.conf in /etc/openvpn. So, did you leave the terminal open? Consider also using networkmanager. It has VPN plugins, so there will be a GUI mode for both openvpn or vpnc. Do "apt-cache search networkmanager" and install appropriatelyI had no problem on mine. |
