if the filesystem is ext2/2xt3/ext4, windows would not recognize it without third party software.

hmm, seems ubuntu users starts growing..
so i think instead of creating multiple threads bout ubuntu prob, why not we cramp in everything in one thread..
even the thread might grow pages long, its worth to go thru as everything is related to ubuntu..

ok, i'll start 1st..

im having prob with repo, cant get gpg key
i cant update anything at all.. the update always stuck at 56%
(i refer--> http://ubuntuguide.org/#extrarepositories )

here's my source list
*
have u try to add "software source" > "3rd party"?

sorry coz i new with linux ^^

in ubuntu there is no need to get driver from nvidia, js go to preference -> system -> restricted drivers...activate ur display driver, then it will do the rest, follow instructions n u'll be fine

I'm having problems with Ubuntu 9.04. The system load is almost always 100% and everything is oh so slow.

My system specs are: Intel Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz, 1 Gb Ram. No graphics card.
I usually just have firefox and transmissions running but it's crawling!
Should I get a less resource sucking distro? If so, recommend me one.

Thanks in advance.

Careful, ppa repositories are experimental and not recommended for newer users. Any beta Kubuntu's are also not recommended. Kde 4.3 beta is likely to break. If you know what you are doing, it's fine.
There's nothing wrong with Kde 4.2.4 (or lower); everything works, including amarok. Just make sure you have all the codecs installed.

Go to your home ie., ~/ and show hidden files.
Then rename ~/.kde to ~/.kde to ~/.kde_old
Restart.
You will lose all your personalization and redo all your personalization with plasma etc.
If you have kmail, konqueror settings, copy from ~/.kde_old these settings.
If you find this hard, suggest you reinstall, but this time don't touch the ppa and beta's.
Reinstall is much easier than windows reinstall. Also backup your home for your data.
I personally find kde 4.2.2 is good enough, but you can go to kde 4.2.4 without problems.
BTW, I am on Karmic now so I can't help you with any specific Jaunty issue. The above is
good for any edition or Linux distro. Good luck.
