Hye guise, Imma using Ubuntu 8.04 want to ask a simple question. Um how to pause apt-get (in Terminal)? I mean I'm installing Octave (MATLAB equivalent), and now the installer have 55 minutes to go. I'm liek, want to reboot NOW. Is there any way to pause the Terminal operation and resume after reboot?

I'd like to know how to create /desktop/gnome/screen/default/0/ because my Ubuntu only have until /desktop/gnome only. I don't know how to add the remaining parts. Kindly advise.

Oh one new reason why I have Linux in my box is Deluge. Hell maximum sucking speed via screamyx, when my Vista can't even download 1 byte using utorrent. Running Ubuntu and Fedora as guest, and Vista as host is sure nice eh?

Another reason is software installation. Super easy and free. But that's old reason why Linux is 2nd nice thing after internet lol.

I'm currently debmirror the repo, and I'd love to know the difference between dists and pool. Is pool the software collection (like the actual library), and dists is a pointer (like a kinonavi at Kinokuniya) to specific software for specific releases (intrepid, jaunty, karmic and such)?

Jaunty failed to connect to the server. I have installed network-manager-pptp, and pptp-linux. The network icon showed some spinning yellow comet and a tiny lock, however it failed to connect and showed no error dialog.

Any idea where I did wrong?

How to remove this out of place tray icon? Tray icon for file operation is not nice. I'd love to get rid of it.
