That's the issue. For EPP, I'm not sure how's DiGi gonna implement the RM5 autobilling rebate. Either in the Credit Card Statement or in DiGi billing.

QUOTE(sylar111 @ Oct 25 2010, 02:59 PM) RM 5 rebate means? If say i use 63 plan i use less then RM63, I pay RM58 only? I thought i already paid RM3677.76 to CC? u still pay RM63 a mth for the epp plan (RM153+ incl iphone cost) coz the amount has already been swiped to ur credit card. if ur usage does not exceed the 200 mins, 200 sms, 20 mms, etc, the RM5 will be rolled over to ur next mth's bill. same goes for the next mth if u constantly do not use above your limit (i.e. month 2 = RM10 balance, month 3 = RM15 balance till month 24 = RM120 balance). after month 24, whatever balance u have in your account will be used to offset against your month 25's bill.Added on October 25, 2010, 3:02 pm RM 5 rebate means? Added on October 25, 2010, 3:04 pmActually i do not know what is the advantage of buying the phone upright. I mean the EPP cost is same as buying the phone upright if ur usage exceeds RM5, then u'll hafta pay the extra amount minus RM5. and yes, i don't c the advantage of paying the full amount upfront since it costs exactly the same (for upfront payment, u hafta factor in the 5% tax...its not included in the monthly RM63 fee). and from Jan 1 2011 onwards, service tax would be raised from 5% - 6%. so technically if u buy it via epp now, u can save RM13.23 (RM63 x 21 x 1%)...LOL This post has been edited by babana: Oct 25 2010, 03:14 PM |

i have a question, i was tethering with digi 3g the other day,
Today suddenly when i open setting>general>network: normally it will show internet tethering on/off (a tab i could slide) now it says "set up internet tethering". when i tap on it it says " to enable tethering on this account, please contact digi". I called digi up and the say the only way to solve it is to update to ios 4, anyone face this problem? btw im using 3.1.3 help anyone? |

QUOTE(whatsayyou @ Oct 25 2010, 05:51 PM) not sure u can call this an advantage: well...yea, i guess u're right on this point....upfront gives u more flexibility should u opt for early contract termination (however, the RM400 termination charge is still rather hefty imho). well on the bright side, the mthly contract is still pretty affordable at RM63 (before RM5 autopay rebate) so if u're on epp and for some reason decide that u wanna switch from an iphone to say...an android one, u can just sell ur iphone off and continue with the plan! i know several ppl who bought the iphone package solely coz of the cheap plan rates n sold their iphone off BNIB with a couple hundred profit! if u purchase outright, u can terminate and digi only charge you RM400 (termination charges) whereas if u use EPP, and terminate, digi wont charge u anything, HOWEVER u still have to pay the bank monthly (because EPP is contract between bank and u) unless u're planning to migrate or transferring out of the country for work purposes, that might be abit of a prob, lol |

QUOTE(mr11 @ Oct 25 2010, 04:27 PM) 1 time INTERNATIONAL SMS CHARGES (RM0.50) when u switch ON the facetime ONCE. (SETTING -> PHONE)Meant, if u switch ON once then OFF then ON again = RM1.00 (2 international sms) After that is free thru wifi, ENJOY your clear video call So, from my advise, after switching ON don't OFF again. * The SMS is send to 00447786205094. QUOTE(whatsayyou @ Oct 25 2010, 05:51 PM) not sure u can call this an advantage: There is no advantage cost wise. That is what i mean. As you said, with EPP, you are tied forever since only a dummy would terminate their contract since they have alreaady paid for it. But what i am concerned is cost and from what i see ,there is more advantages using EPP since you do not have to pay upfront and thus it is actually cheaper to order using EPP. if u purchase outright, u can terminate and digi only charge you RM400 (termination charges) whereas if u use EPP, and terminate, digi wont charge u anything, HOWEVER u still have to pay the bank monthly (because EPP is contract between bank and u) So i guess with EPP, the downside is you really cannot terminate your contract since you have paid for it unless you are super duper rich. The RM400 termination charges is to actually prevent people from taking advantage of the system by buying the phone at a cheaper price and then terminate |

if you guys have been following this thread, you would know that i have been trying to get my iphone4 for some time. almost three weeks ago i placed a reservation for a 16gb unit at the DiGi Specialized Store in Digital Mall, Section 14 PJ. a week or so after that, they closed the reservation. anyway, let me share with you my story.
when I placed my reservation, the person at the counter was reasonably pleasant. no sour faces or anything, just a simple straightforward reservation. he even left me his number and told me i could text him if i had any questions. this fellow's name is Justin. a week later, after hearing from various parties that the DiGi outlets have been restocked, I dropped by the DSS in Digital Mall to ask about my set's status. This time, there was a girl at the counter and it looked as if she had something stuck up her ass. otherwise she would have looked rather pleasant; bangable even. should be in her early 20s with short hair with a reasonably pleasant looking face. anyway, she seemed to have a serious problem when i politely asked about my set's status and the estimated date of arrival. she put on the sourest face imaginable and started checking the stack of reservation forms for me. no issues there, at least she was helping me check. there seemed to have some problem as she couldnt find my form, and she rudely asked me if i was doing MNP. I politely told her that i was switching plan from DiGi Smartplan for Blackberry. Ported in from Maxis when DiGi was having the promo for their BB Smartplan 58 a few months ago and i have become a loyal DiGi customer, after using Maxis all my life. anyway, i recognized Justin sitting at the counter so i asked him about my set instead, since he was rather helpful the last time. I was met with a cold and tulan kinda response and he took out a different stack of reservation forms and went through them searching for my form. eventually he found it and told me i could get my set the following day. I was very happy and thanked him with a smile. i returned the next day and got my iphone4, almost shivering with excitement. got all the procedures done and immediately swiped a 2 year commitment on my cc for the EPP offered by DiGi. here's the best part: while getting the paperwork done, i tried to strike up a conversation with Justin and asked him if he was selling a lot of iphone4s (lame small talk stuff) and I was taken aback by his response. he said something along the lines of: "this iphone4, it really depends on customer one. have to see what type of customer. some customers, we will let them wait long long." this made me think to myself, walaoeh, i never knew DSS would scheme against their customers like that. I was then wondering to myself if I was one of those customers whom he purposely made me wait long long. still on the iphone4 high, i immediately shrugged it off as speculation cos i was so happy to finally get my iphone4. you know, like an excited little boy who just got the newest and coolest toy in town. my point is, this is a really horrible example of customer service. i really expected more from DiGi, especially with their social media team religiously responding to many customer's queries over twitter. you see, because of my unpleasant experience, I cant help but to speculate now, that maybe this Justin fella gave me a faulty unit? perhaps there's really no such thing as faulty set cos all the boxes come sealed and no one can temper with the set inside but hey, who knows? the DSS can do such things like scheming against difficult customers. you never know what else they might have been up to. just wanna share my experience and see if anyone else can relate to this? sorry for spamming this super long post. i just ate full full, nothing to do.
