Yippeeee.... I'm officially the onwer of Iphone Killer.... (ie iP4).

Got it from SoHo. I'm the last 32GB subscriber for today.

Log-in time = 2:00pm
Waiting game = 30 minutes.
Registration = 15 minutes.
Checking phone condition = 5 minutes.

There goes my year-end bonus @ RM2490...

p/s : MAYBE, I'm "planning" to sell iP4 coz I just want the RM58/month plan only...No phone can beat my 4.3" HD2/HD7....yet...

Not now. I need to test a few stuff first. If iP4 can 100% replace my HD2, then I will keep iP4.

Cummulative Calculation For Upfront Payment Plan (iP4 32GB):

Monthly bill (without excessive usage) = RM63 plus 5% tax = RM66.15
Deduct Autobill rebate = RM66.15 - RM5 = RM61.15/month

After 24-months, you pay:
RM61.15 x 24 = RM1467.60

Grand total after 24 months = iP4 32GB + monthly bill = RM2490 + RM1467.60 = RM3957.60

Or,

Monthly bill (without excessive usage plus Autobill rebate) = RM58 plus 5% tax = RM60.90

After 24-months, you pay:
RM60.90 x 24 = RM1461.60

Grand total after 24 months = iP4 32GB + monthly bill = RM2490 + RM1461.60 = RM3951.60

There is confusion on the 5% tax. Wait for the second monthly bill to confirm which it is imposed to. I have received my first month bill. It is as per calculated in the first option.

=================================================

Cummulative Calculation For EPP (iP4 32GB):

Total after 24 month EPP = RM169.90 x 24 = RM4077.60
But remember, there is RM5 rebate for Autobill = 24 x (-RM5) = -RM120

Now the trick for EPP is, the rebate must be activated by the customer as per T&C below:
"Auto Billing rebate of RM5 per month will be reflected in the monthly Postpaid bill if you sign up for Auto Billing at the point of purchase. Auto Billing is not activated automatically for EPP payments and the customer is required to opt-in by law."

Once you have activated the Autobill rebate (just ensure the DiGi Exec activates it for you), the Grand Total after 24 months = RM4077.60 - RM120 = RM3597.60 RM3957.60

There's more. For EPP, your credit limit will be reduced instantly by RM4077.60.
Let's say your CC limit is RM5000/month, the balance for next month once you sign-up for EPP is
= RM5000 - RM4077.60 = RM922.40
Meaning, you can use your current CC balance of RM922.40 for next month expenses. If you use the same CC for other autobill service(s), be extra carefull as this will further add deduction to your CC monthly limit. But, don't worry, the CC limit will increase monthly again by RM169.90 (for 32GB iP4). During my sign-up, I've seen a lot of customer's CC was rejected due to insufficient credit balance. Because you have to ensure your CC balance exceed RM4077.60 (for 32GB iP4). In the end, they go for upfront payment which is RM2490 because there is no more CC left.

=================================================

Conclusion : It does not matter which payment plan you opt for. They are both the same in terms of grand total paid after 24 month period. For me, EPP is better if you have more than one CC. But if you have good cash-flow in your savings account, no harm to go for upfront payment by paying via CC. You have to also ensure other charges (eg. RM3 detailed paper-bill) is disabled during sign-up.

hi guys, i need some information here. i heard that i can get iphone 4 for free. but need to agree the plan for 3 years. is it true ?
*
Partly YES! There is "free" iPhone package. The plan has already included the iP4 price. But you have to ensure your CURRENT credit card balance is more than RM3677.76 (if you are signing up for iP4 16GB).

Partly "yes" again. The "value" for iP4 16GB with DiGi is RM2090. But with 36-month plan, the "value" for iP4 with plan is RM3677.76.

No sweat. Just ensure your CURRENT Credit Card balance is more than RM3677.76. If not they will reject your credit card.

means if I take 16gb  (RM153.24 x 24) - RM120 = RM3557.76 in total...
but I must 2 make sure 2 ask the exect 2 activated my Autobill..

am i rite??
*
Yup. But your CC will be one lump swipe of RM3677.76. If your autobill is activated, you will see RM5 rebate every month for the next 24 months. So, ensure your CURRENT CC balance is more than RM3677.76

i cant swipe  because my cc limit only 4k.. i want the EPP too bad they straight charge lump sum.. another alternative apply 2nd cc card  biggrin.gif
*
Another classic example. So guys, if you are planning to get the EPP, ensure your CURRENT CC balance is AT LEAST more than RM3677.76

just notice
Once you have activated the Autobill rebate (just ensure the DiGi Exec activates it for you), the Grand Total after 24 months = RM4077.60 - RM120 = RM3597.60

Think calculation a bit off

Thanks for pointing the error. It seems that my brain is working faster than my fingers...lol
It's supposed to be RM3975.60

That's the issue. For EPP, I'm not sure how's DiGi gonna implement the RM5 autobilling rebate. Either in the Credit Card Statement or in DiGi billing.

to check whether the unit is new or refurbish unit, just check the serial number. the 4th & 5th digit are the week the iphone is made for year 2010.

for my unit, it is made on week 40. since I sign up the plan on mid October, the unit is consider new. the running number as of today should be around 42.

You guys better watch out for the International SMS/'Silent SMS' sent from your iP4. The SMS is sent to number 00447786205094. The charge is 50sen/SMS.

So far I have being charged twice. Once during microSIM activation. The other is mysterious after "FaceTime" usage.

You can check the record at OCS under "Unbilled Transaction" menu.

that charge coming when u always on off facetime. each time on off they will charge activate fee..just open in 24hrs. sure there no more hidden charges. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
I did not touch the FaceTime settings since it was activated the first day I activate the microSIM. I did not even change/swap microSIM. This 'Silent SMS' charge is only being imposed if we turn on-off the FaceTime and change microSIM. But, it seems iP4 has intermittently sent the SMS during/after FaceTime mode. This issue is affecting "some" users all over the world no matter what telco they are. Just keep track of your unbilled transaction everyday.

This happen to me as well... I never touch anything on the FaceTime... Anyway will this happen again if I didn't on or off the facetime?
*
The only way to verify is to make several FaceTimes to check the 50sen SMS charges. If the charge applies after every FaceTime, we need to get clarification from Apple/Digi. Of course, do not touch the FaceTime setting. Let it be "ON" for the rest of iPhone 4's life.

So far, from one forum update (lost the link already), the charge is applied to the first time we use FaceTime. The subsequent FaceTime will not be charged anymore. And yes, I did the FaceTime only ONCE the other day.

wah, i kena pwned big time by digi with their iphone4 plan! got my iphone4 on 25 sept at the roadshow in quill, signed up for the 24 mths easy payment plan (EPP) scheme and swiped RM3,677.60 on my cc. was immediately charged RM153+ for the 1st mth's installment. ok fine. just got my cc bill this mth n voila, i'm being charged my second RM153+ installment...with an additional RM58 autodebited into my cc for the i88 plan!!! called the customer hotline up n apparently i'm on the mthly cash payment plan...and i gotta go back home and dig my receipts to fax it to them to prove that i am on the installment plan ONLY and had already swiped my card for RM3,677.60!!!

apparently the refund process takes 2-3 mths and in the meantime, i might be charged twice again on my cc for my nov bill! wth...can't they check my account to c that its been tagged to both EPP and mthly cash payments???

n NO, i still have not received the RM100 rebate promised to me at quill when i waited for 8 hrs to trade in my old phone!!!  mad.gif

That's the dangerous thing about EPP. Once swipe, you can't undo.

Using Edge wont incur any data charges right? So I can Edge on the whole time? Does it sap the battery?

unfortunately, EDGE is also a data service. It's slower than 3G.on top of that, if u r using data under EDGE connectivity, the person who calls u will get voicemail notification. in other words, u cannot receive call while usingEDGE data connection.

I dont really understand this. isnt it supposed to be easy payment plan? with the bill showing RM153 per month? (pay RM153 every month for 24 months)
why is your card being charged RM3677.60?
*
As far as I'm aware, the EPP works like this:

The RM3677.60 is credited to the Credit Card Limit. Let's say, the CC limit is RM8000. After signing-up with iP plan, the new limit will be:
RM8000 - RM3677.60 = RM4322.40. The Operator should NOT charge the RM3677.60 directly to the CC daily cash-flow. That is NOT EPP. The RM3677.60 should be deducted from the CC LIMIT.

Every month, the CC statement will still state the RM153++ . But at the same time, the CC limit is increased by RM153++ for that particular month.
