Just wondering. You guys are mentioning that if you buy the phone upfront you get more savings. I just want to know how much more savings you get by buying the phone upfront.

I think if you do the actual calculation EPP is definitely cheaper. Unless there is any hidden charges by the banks. The only downside is the RM 5 rebate that you are not able to get with EPP, which is an extra RM120 over 3 years. if you divide RM120 over the 3 years with the extra cost of the phone it is just over 1 % interest. I mean to be honest i do not really understand why dealers actually say that EPP is more expensive when it is actually much cheaper.

Yup. But your CC will be one lump swipe of RM3677.76. If your autobill is activated, you will see RM5 rebate every month for the next 24 months. So, ensure your CURRENT CC balance is more than RM3677.76

Another classic example. So guys, if you are planning to get the EPP, ensure your CURRENT CC balance is AT LEAST more than RM3677.76

not sure u can call this an advantage:
if u purchase outright, u can terminate and digi only charge you RM400 (termination charges)
whereas if u use EPP, and terminate, digi wont charge u anything, HOWEVER u still have to pay the bank monthly (because EPP is contract between bank and u)

There is no advantage cost wise. That is what i mean. As you said, with EPP, you are tied forever since only a dummy would terminate their contract since they have alreaady paid for it. But what i am concerned is cost and from what i see ,there is more advantages using EPP since you do not have to pay upfront and thus it is actually cheaper to order using EPP.

So i guess with EPP, the downside is you really cannot terminate your contract since you have paid for it unless you are super duper rich.

The RM400 termination charges is to actually prevent people from taking advantage of the system by buying the phone at a cheaper price and then terminate
