hi all

thanks for your response.really appreciate it.this is what i have done
firstly do unrevoke3 really didnt change s-on and hboot version? if so,i have massively wasting my time sweat.gif
nevermind,no pain no gain right?

so after repeated (or assuming of) failure to rooted my phone, this is what i did

- downgraded to Eclair 2.1 (now running software version 1.21 and hboot 0.83)
- use unrevoke3 to rooted my phone

yet still it shows s-on but i do have a superuser permission at my home screen.how can i confirm my phone is already
rooted? (except from bootloader screen of course)

thanks guys

Hi all, new Desire user here. I can't seem to find what I'm looking for in past threads so hope to get some answers here smile.gif

I tried to sync my Desire with Outlook, but the Calendar option in HTC Sync 3.0 allows me to sync old entries up to 1 month ago only! I have calendar entries dating back to 2006 which I'd like to import to the phone. Never had any issues so far in the past, upgrading through the yrs all my entries remained intact until now.

I read from other resources that this "feature" was put into Android for whatever the hell purposes, but if there's no workaround then it would really suck @$$ for me, as I rely on my calendar a lot to keep track of past entries as well as all future entries.

To all those who've successfully migrated all their calendar entries, how did you do it? Care to help a brother out?
*
Gee... why you want to sync 2006 calendar? Even my Windows Mobile and Palm phones can't sync more than 3 months old. Except for repeating events.

The only reason I think off why they put this limitation is to prevent the app db become bigger thus may slow down the experience.

I migrated my Microsoft Phone Sync and Outlook contents to Google Clouds since using Android.... go Android go.... rclxm9.gif

uhmm.. I rooted with AmonRa recovery, succeeded in one try, it was smooth sailing for me, but then my HBOOT was 0.83
use 960X800 resolution for the image you want to set as your wallpaper, then when applying just "crop" the whole image

you don't really need any website to dl wallpaper,

best is that you use an image editing program, e.g Photoshop, Paint.Net
then get whatever image that you want to use it as your wallpaper,
crop or resize the image to 960X800.

Thanks for the input smile.gif Anyway I already managed to do it via some workaround. You'll be surprised that many ppl actually keep all their data, some as far back as the late 90s! I needed this info from back in 2006 as it relates to my work. Supposed to have more entries dating back to Y2k, but those got lost while syncing on WinMo lol. The only regret now is not being able to transfer my sms messages from my N97 Mini, had to resort to exporting it as a CSV file and saving as an Excel worksheet.

Back to the calendar thing. I've never had any problems in the past, syncing between WinMo or Symbian to Outlook, there was always an option to sync from a prescribed period in years before and after. Just a bit strange that Android only allows from one month ago. It's like trying to say you must back up at least once a month, or some of your older entries will be lost. sad.gif

flashed to auraxtsense 7.8.1 last night. Everythings well except that I have no Maps. I cant even install back the previous bruts map from 7.1 from titatnium backup. Some ppl experienced this on xda and suggested solution to them was full wipe. I already did my full wipe. Should I reflash again?

Not me though, my main calendar is also Outlook in my notebook. I sync no more than a month schedule into my mobile.

Why do you have to backup every month? Entries will be lost??? Your main calendar is in your PC/notebook right?

I think if you not yet do any customisation and setup, just do a second reflash. I had some problem with my first flash too previously and the second reflash resolve all the problems. Do note that do not do a full restore from Titanium Backup after a rom flash. Restore from the backup selectively.

Second reflash, meant i have to wipe data/factory, cache, dalvik, ext again? I didn't do full restore, system apps i only restore those that are green, i ignore those that are red.

Hi guys,
I am new to flashing android rom, since upgrade to 2.2 OTA, i have no issue for my daily usage, but the problem now with my HTC desire is low in ROM storage, even the app can A2SD original, but the function do not help anyway... after the new skype install, my storage become low.

So, anyone of you here are happy with your rooted-custom rom HTC desire with A2SD+? did A2SD+ really makes ur SD card partition ext3 , to the ROM ???

i hope to make my 8G micro-SD become 4G extra ext3 partition, 4G extra fat32 storage, can it be done?

hope you guys get my question.

to be honest mate, what kind of apps you want to install for a 4GB ext partition? i'm using 512mb only, and still got 269mb left. and this is by installing more apps than i've ever use.

and of course we are happy with our rooted device + customizations + A2SD+, and i am yet to see any person didntl like a rooted device.

and yes it is possible to do the 4GB ext using amonra recovery or linux.

yes, do everything from scratch like you flash rom the first time.

@eddie_lim, I agree with LuffyPSP, 1GB of ext3 will be more than enough. 4GB of ext3 is really waste of space. You will run out of space for your data instead later when you fill up the FAT32 partition with MP3, videos, etc.

yes, 1GB is the max as u will be running out of internal memory before u can even fill up the 1GB ext3

I'm on AuraxTSense 7.6.1 which supports A2SD+,

installed about 120+ apps, still have 40+mb left in my internal memory

so did it help? tongue.gif

4GB is really overkilled, my ext3 is 1GB, currently left 588mb, so you can imagine..
