Anyone know how to check the reasons for unsuccessful installing? Tried to install a few apps from Market but all failed cry.gif
*
I'm had a problem with one particular software which is Dropbox. It won't download successfully from market. No matter how zillion times I try. Rebooting also won't work.

The only solution I managed to install and clear the flag from the market is...

1. using Manage Applications -> All -> Download Manager -> Clear Data
2. in the same UI, Market -> Clear Cache -> Clear Data -> Force Stop
3. start Market, and it reset everything, anything downloaded previously will be listed again and I'm able to download Dropbox rclxms.gif

Yeaah already there since day one. It was quite annoying even though its not really noticeable unless you view your phone from such an awkward angle. but now I'm used to it already so I'm fine with it.

Yup, I also have the line. Not noticing it until it was posted here smile.gif

how do you see the line?

Look from the bottom. Place the phone flat on ur palm. The line only appear if the lcd is lit. The line is under the top solid black bar (the one with HTC wording). Mine is SLCD set.

You can try Nimbuz (Free). Take a lot of your phone memory ~8MB. No AP2SD support yet. Alas, it's my social app now... Yahoo!, Live, Skype, Facebook rclxms.gif

I tried that couple of times different day, still cannot. Apart from Maps, there is another one called Street View. I think it was not meant for our region release.

mostly iphone4.. those selling desire i see at the garage sales arent the one active talking here bout android.. maybe they have been brainwashed.. lol
*
Hahaha... maybe most of them are phone jumper... like the Jumper movie. Teleport here and there... trying to own latest in the market which is not like most of Android owner mentality, more to Iphone owner. Brainwashed by Steve Job? "Oooo to have multitasking.... u need to throw ur 3GS... buy 4G...." there another long queue at Maxis and Digi. I do not know what 4GS will offer after this. Real video chat to other phone using telco connection. rclxms.gif

I really don't understand this, phone like nokia have video call ability long time ago....
but when they come out with I4 they advertise like they are the 1st which provide video call... hmm.gif  hmm.gif
some more through wifi only~~ rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
I'm still puzzling on this approach, more likely they just want to introduce the FaceTime app. If wifi, better use notebook. Better still, use iphone4 as modem, then use notebook to have video chat with messaging software. So... the front camera is a... white elephant. biggrin.gif

i am using WinRAR
no need to unzip then zip back
just direct delete from inside the zip!
done a few times and all no problem

only thing is my camera no H.264 720p
weird...
*
Stock Froyo cannot record 720p in H264 format, some custom ROM can do that.

Hi all, new Desire user here. I can't seem to find what I'm looking for in past threads so hope to get some answers here smile.gif

I tried to sync my Desire with Outlook, but the Calendar option in HTC Sync 3.0 allows me to sync old entries up to 1 month ago only! I have calendar entries dating back to 2006 which I'd like to import to the phone. Never had any issues so far in the past, upgrading through the yrs all my entries remained intact until now.

I read from other resources that this "feature" was put into Android for whatever the hell purposes, but if there's no workaround then it would really suck @$$ for me, as I rely on my calendar a lot to keep track of past entries as well as all future entries.

To all those who've successfully migrated all their calendar entries, how did you do it? Care to help a brother out?
*
Gee... why you want to sync 2006 calendar? Even my Windows Mobile and Palm phones can't sync more than 3 months old. Except for repeating events.

The only reason I think off why they put this limitation is to prevent the app db become bigger thus may slow down the experience.

I migrated my Microsoft Phone Sync and Outlook contents to Google Clouds since using Android.... go Android go.... rclxm9.gif

Thanks for the input smile.gif  Anyway I already managed to do it via some workaround. You'll be surprised that many ppl actually keep all their data, some as far back as the late 90s! I needed this info from back in 2006 as it relates to my work. Supposed to have more entries dating back to Y2k, but those got lost while syncing on WinMo lol. The only regret now is not being able to transfer my sms messages from my N97 Mini, had to resort to exporting it as a CSV file and saving as an Excel worksheet.

Back to the calendar thing. I've never had any problems in the past, syncing between WinMo or Symbian to Outlook, there was always an option to sync from a prescribed period in years before and after. Just a bit strange that Android only allows from one month ago. It's like trying to say you must back up at least once a month, or some of your older entries will be lost. sad.gif
*
rclxms.gif Yeah... congrats for the achievement.

QUOTE(dracozz @ Oct 8 2010, 09:16 AM)
Not me though, my main calendar is also Outlook in my notebook. I sync no more than a month schedule into my mobile.

Why do you have to backup every month? Entries will be lost??? Your main calendar is in your PC/notebook right?
*
I'm also using this kind of approach. My office calendar, contacts etc. is in outlook (What to do exchange connection) and sync to my office phone. My personal calendar, contacts etc. is at Google and sync with my Desire.

You need file manager app and look into sdcard under "downloads" folder. Don't confuse with "download" folder.

I'm just curious as to how the lower pixel density on the DHD will affect user experience. As it is, 800x480 on a 3.7" screen is just enough.
*
Maybe we can't see the different but it may look pixelated. Need to see the actual unit to see the difference. Current Android resolution, IMHO best on 4" screen or less. So far, iPhone4 have the best resolution for 4 inch.

Some website claimed DHD is SLCD some claimed TFT. I saw pictures comparison between SGS, Desire, DZ and DHD (forgot where the source, maybe in lowyat DHD thread). The color from DHD looked washed a bit.

If you're using stock froyo. Just copy over the contents to the new card. Use card reader.
