For rooted users, please be careful with your passwords... as seen in Android Central.
Android Central

A reason to stay unrooted....  blush.gif

the advantages you get by rooting FAR out weight the disadvantages,
seriously this is nothing compared to what you can do with a rooted device.

to quote one of the comment from the article,
"I think it's worth pointing out that even if your phone is not rooted and is stolen,
a tech-savvy thief would be able to root your phone and pull the data."

basically just be careful of what you are installing, and you should be safe.

i dun do update now haha
*
so you're saying if updating app is the cause?

something funny happened after I posted for help,
I tried powering off the device, and turn it on again
now I can install apk without rebooting anymore, weird...

I thought rebooting and powering off then on is the same thing blink.gif

Look from the bottom. Place the phone flat on ur palm. The line only appear if the lcd is lit. The line is under the top solid black bar (the one with HTC wording). Mine is SLCD set.
*
I tried to look for it following your instructions, and even with 100% brightness, seriously I still can't see it.. sweat.gif

either I'm looking at the wrong place, or I just don't know how to notice the line, I just don't see any backlight bleeding

hi i wan to ask the SLCD good or  AMOLED good .coz i wan buy a new set .i see now all is SLCD.
*
both have their own pros and cons,
just based on user personal preference,

if you're going to buy a new one, you'll only get slcd set
if you want amoled set then you'll have to get 2nd hand

i got a few 480x800 wallies to use on my phone but it seems everytime i want to apply the wallpaper,it will do the crop thingy...how do i bypass that thing or i need to use different resolution wallies...???thanx... smile.gif
*
use 960X800 resolution for the image you want to set as your wallpaper, then when applying just "crop" the whole image

any website recommendation for wallpaper download bro..??
*
you don't really need any website to dl wallpaper,

best is that you use an image editing program, e.g Photoshop, Paint.Net
then get whatever image that you want to use it as your wallpaper,
crop or resize the image to 960X800.

Hi guys,
I am new to flashing android rom, since upgrade to 2.2 OTA, i have no issue for my daily usage, but the problem now with my HTC desire is low in ROM storage, even the app can A2SD original, but the function do not help anyway... after the new skype install, my storage become low.

So, anyone of you here are happy with your rooted-custom rom HTC desire with A2SD+? did A2SD+ really makes ur SD card partition ext3 , to the ROM ???

i hope to make my 8G micro-SD become 4G extra ext3 partition, 4G extra fat32 storage, can it be done?

hope you guys get my question.
*
I'm on AuraxTSense 7.6.1 which supports A2SD+,

installed about 120+ apps, still have 40+mb left in my internal memory

so did it help? tongue.gif

4GB is really overkilled, my ext3 is 1GB, currently left 588mb, so you can imagine..

suddenly installing/updating app from Market cause a reboot of my Desire (AuraxTSense 7.6.1).  I think there is some solution to this buried somewhere in the pass many pages.  Anyone can give me a quick fix, many thanks.   smile.gif

I tried clear Market cache and data but problem not solved.
*
have you tried power off the phone then power it back on?

I don't know what exactly causes this, but it fixes for me

yah.. problem fixed after I kill the app (Quick System Info) that I want to update.  Reboot couldn't solve the problem.. weird.  maybe Quick System Info auto-start.
*
what I mean by "power off then power it back on" is not just "reboot", but literally power it off, then manually power it back on.

it solve the problem every time, it might be one of the apps that is causing this from what you said, in this case it might be Quick System Info?

Need help from all android SIFU and Master here.... i have installed SWYPE but couldn't get it to work. Now i am still stuck in normal QWERTY input. how do I set SWYPE as my default input.

thanks in advance
*
if you're sure you've already installed it,

go to settings -> language & keyboard -> tick swype and you can also configure swype's settings from here.

after that, go to any text input page (e.g enter a text message), tap and hold on the input text area, a window with "input method" will pop up,
tap it, then from there you'll be able to choose what keyboard to use.

hi just wanna ask if i wanna get a ap set for desire,

is there any regional diff between the ori sets from sis aside warranty ?

like for ex, cant use market or language or physical handset difference or the software difference or extra marking on phone ??

thanks guys.. sorry for the newb ques..

i wanna be thorough and want to know the key difference before getting an ap, cant seem to find an ori set =(

=)
*
just go for AP set if warranty is not your main concern. I'm using an AP set, no difference from the ORI set from what I can see.
Been using for 1 month+ now and so far, I haven't encounter any situation where I thought I should have gone for ORI set, yet.
