I tried clear Market cache and data but problem not solved.

It is dangerous to store everything in a mobile or use it as the main device for storing important items without frequent syncing to a PC.
That's why you are complaining about lost calendars entries.

*
Err, I lost my old entries when my pc crashed smile.gif Then later I learned to extract the Outlook data from within the Windows folders and back it up on a non-OS drive. Please don't assume you know how I do my work.

Yes, I do backup my appts to PC, but that's not the point. Every other mobile operating system allows you, the user, to decide how he wants to backup his stuff. Why do you have to be such a fanboy and think everyone should just do what google dictates we should do? What's the point of an "open" platform, when the fact is that google is just trying to increase our dependence on them? Is that so hard for you to understand?

have you tried power off the phone then power it back on?

I don't know what exactly causes this, but it fixes for me

yah.. problem fixed after I kill the app (Quick System Info) that I want to update. Reboot couldn't solve the problem.. weird. maybe Quick System Info auto-start.

what I mean by "power off then power it back on" is not just "reboot", but literally power it off, then manually power it back on.

it solve the problem every time, it might be one of the apps that is causing this from what you said, in this case it might be Quick System Info?

yes.. i think Quick System Info is running when the updating is done, so the system reboot itself. Normally the apps will be forced close then updated.

I knew what you mean by power on and off. I did it sometime when my Desire has problem too. smile.gif

you seemed annoyed by my replies so much so that you can even assumed that i am a fanboy of google.
it is very dissapointing 2b accused of something that you're absolutely not. well, why do you have to make such conclusion (and a 100% wrong one too) in the first place also puzzled me. all i wanted to share is my experience with Microsoft Outlook for years and syncing using Symbian, WM and to Android devices. you did not mention ur data lost was caused by pc crashed. Based on ur postings, i assumed you have lost data due to sync problem not a pc crash and that the void in ur calendars r caused by less frequent sync available in Android.

for your info, i had a hard time syncing my Outlook with my desire once I opt for vanilla customs ROMs.
I even have to install 3rd party software to sync my Outlook to Google than from Goolge to my desire
I had a hard time finding those software too. Now, I have to sync from my notebook to Google than back to my phone.
so, why do i need 2b a google fanboy when i am having all these hassle with Google???
Google Android does not even have native direct sync support to Outlook, another negative factor of using Android phones.
If you are on non-sense custom ROMs, you can forget about using HTC Sync. It wouldn't work.
You will be wasting much time finding SYNC software and will be complaining more about Android which I did.
Only one or too 3rd party sync software are good enough to perform perfect sync to google.

Look, I just offered my simple advice: PC/Notebook to store the master copy of ur calendars/contacts/tasks while mobile as a temp device and sync as frequent as possible.

If my advice is of no use to you, then so sorry for wrong advice, & you can juz ignore it.
And if my tone sounds annoying to you, I offer my apology too.

Are you in customs ROMs? Some customs ROMs do not have flash player.
Just download from the market.
Original 2.2 HTC OTA has built in flash support already.

would love to try MIUI but...damn the camera and dialer~~ i hope they were from htc.
*
Yupe, I really missed HTC dialer since i opt for vanilla or MIUI roms.
To be able to lookup names or phone numbers at once is really something i missed
and btw, MIUI camera & videos has really loud default sound which you cant even switch off.
only way is to delete the sound files from the system

Thanks dracozz, I'm on miui rom now. Really nice interface although iphonish.  But I feel it more responsive than auraxt. Typing a bit lag thou. Will use it for a few days to get use to the interface hehe
*
No problem. yupe, definitely iphonish, even some icons are similar as iphone. even folder widgets r iphone feature.
anyway i really don't mind they port all good features from everywhere.
so far, I am using the original MIUI keyboard as i need chinese support which seems fine to me.

EpsilonStar, do you find it hard to answer calls by swiping downwards?
It's really quite hard to swipe down. Always need to swipe a few times to answer a call.
Sense also swipe down but definitely easier to swipe.

anyone using Touch Test (http://www.appbrain.com/app/touch-test/org.hermit.touchtest) to test how many multitouch points on your phone?

My HTC Desire stock 2.2 only 2 points, is that normal?

Ok, no apology required smile.gif Sorry to have misread your intentions. But it did sound like, "There's no need to find a way to work around the system, just change your backup habits to follow the system" lol. Anyway, FYI I'm on AuraxTSense 7.7 and thus have had no problems syncing with HTC Sync 3.0, the only quirk being that calendar thing.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply. On that note, do indulge me. The thing is, with the way HTC Sync is set up, I'd have to backup my phone to PC (which I do anyway) almost daily, or if I want to be lazy, at least once a month, otherwise there will be missing entries. That's all that I was asking in one of my previous posts. One may argue that if I backed up all my old appts dating back to years ago, the phone would be a hog to use. The main reason that I want to keep a full copy on my phone is as a safety net in case my pc crashes again (and honestly, I didn't lose any contacts through syncing, it was all due to a crashed OS, which I didn't know back then how to backup the data from Outlook onto a separate drive). Luckily, thanks to Symbian I've managed to make a full backup of my old phone's data (calendar, contacts, notes, sms etc), so in case this Desire doesn't work out for me I can simply buy another Symbian and retrieve said data painlessly. It's just too bad I can't migrate painlessly to Android without having to backup my stuff to Big Brother Google, which incidentally is not liable for any loss data smile.gif

There's a good reason that I need to keep those old entries alive, to keep tabs on work done which I haven't been paid yet (around 30k plus). Planning to take up a court case against that client. I've even got printed copies (lol) of those calendar entries just in case.

Peace out.

Er i just flashed it last nite so still have not really received any call...
1 thing i dun really like is they put all the apps on screen. And miss many HTC Sense features and apps and widget...

Yeah iphonish, but it looks nice. It makes the screen looks more vibrant and colorful. Now i understand why those screen on mac(ipad, macbook) looks so pleasing and sharp compare to others. Probably 40% is due to the design and color used in their UI...
