If we move apps/games to SD card, some of the data will still be in the phone. Is that normal? My phone left with 30mb only.

guys.. im planning to buy a desire soon. i would like to know, once i update the firmware to Froyo to 2.2 (official one), can i choose to install all the software into the memory card? or i still need to install it into the phone memory?
Assume that after update to Froyo and the answer is still i need to install it to the phone memory, is there any other software/method which can allow the software@game installation to be be done into the memory card? |

QUOTE(calmshot @ Nov 22 2010, 09:36 AM) in the sparepart apps, look for app2sd drop down (stated as: "where to strore apps") if that doesnt appear maybe u dont have any partition in ur sd card. hence u have to download rom manager to partition it. fyi, auraxtsense is a sense base rom. sry for the trouble mate but still i din't find app2sd in sparepart... btw, i downloaded app2sd frm market so don't knw whether it was da stuff u were saying to me... n ya i don't think i have any paritition on my sd card.. hw to do it.. n wat is downloading rom manager.. can it help to do partition in my sd card??????... r u using auraxtsense.. hw does it work... man it'll b kind of u, if u post me da link of it, coz i din't find it in xda..regarding the update, if you still using the default rom you will still receive the update. unless you flash to another custom rom. n how to flash rom in phone... i jst din't get it.. is it easy as it was to root in unrevoked |

Yup as i said from my previous post, there still some data stored in the internal memory, im not sure why but i think it is for application cache. This is normal. If u use app2sd also the same. 100kb to 1mb of internal memory still will be use by each app for caching.Added on November 22, 2010, 10:32 pm QUOTE(koolakt @ Nov 22 2010, 09:12 PM) man.. btw how to install app2sd.. widout flashing rom... i jst want to add app2sd coz m happy wis da sense... Just download from the market. After download, go to ur app drawer, there should be app2sd app in there, just click on that to use it.To partition ur sd, u need to download 'rom manager' app from market. If all of those have been made, and still u cannot set default installation location, means u have to flash to custom rom. If u like sense ui, just flash to sensr based rom such as auraxtsense. Im using it now. Go to here to download : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796255 Use rom manager to flash to new rom. I wont teach u here how, there's a lot of tutorial on how to flash rom using rom manager. It just easy as abc. This post has been edited by calmshot: Nov 22 2010, 10:44 PM |

Actually SGS only have 2GB out of 16GB as ROM. The other 14GB, it will treat as internal SD card and extra slotted SD card is considered as external SD (it create a mount point inside internal SD). |

I always thought that it will detect as 16gb rom |

If you really want to retain the sense ui ROM at its original taste PLUS custom app2sd to free up the internal memory then you can consider flash into this original stock froyo with init.d support from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773997Partition your SD to have ext3 partition, then install the A2SD mod pack and you will get your apps residing in the internal memory transferred into the ext3 partition automatically. Do consider to install the super battery circle mod too so that you can check your battery % right off from the top bar. I'm using this ROM with mods including super battery circle, richardtrip kernel and A2SD+. So far getting good processor performance and good battery saving! |
