X100 box looks better. Might sway my decision based on that lolll

This is definitely true.... X100 was the fist X camera and the packaging was awesome. My X-E1 box not very impressive.....

Best reason to stick to X100.... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

This snapped by my X100S. ISO performance seems much better than my previous X100.

Got it for RM 3550 from YL. Includes free screen protector, 8GB Class 6 card, and leather case (similar with X100). nod.gif

I have both the X100 and X-E1. The body is about the same for both but the 35mm is much bigger than the X100 built in 23mm.

do you mind to share a picture?

i just want to make a comparison see how much bigger.. if i can bare with the size, i might go for xe1... if too beeffy, then i will just go for x100s... cool2.gif

what's your thought bro?

xe1 (versatality) vs x100s (hybrid focus, new manual focus features, better sensor & processor, hybrid vf)... u can just imagine how hard is the choice... i would like to have the 18mm and 35mm in the near future, but the x100s does affect me by much cry.gif

Yeah. But Fujifilm has skimped on packaging. My previous X100 came with a wonderful velvet wooden box. But of course, the X100S sensor is ground-breaking so it more than makes up for the poor packaging. happy.gif

Agree with you bro. It's more or less the same. Only thing certain lenses on the X-E1 make it bigger.

Size is not the factor bro. Performance is. The X100S AF is wicked fast and next-generation X-Trans II sensor is bleeding edge technology. thumbup.gif

However, I do prefer the lense quality of the 35mm whereby its freaking sharp even when shot wide open at F1.4. The built-in 23mm on X100/X100S loses out in this.

But is the XE1 AF speed in low light and start up time lose far behind from the x100s? icon_question.gif
i'm gonna make a decision soon... arrgghhh...

both have pros and cons... many told me this 2 model can't compare to each another, because they are at diff class... or, wait for xe2 which kinda impossible for me shakehead.gif

The X100s has the latest generation X-Trans sensor which is an improvement over the X-E1 but I suspect its mainly the inclusion of the phase detect photosites on the sensor itself. Picture quality should be the same between the X100s and X-E1.

The new MF and faster AF of the X100s is certainly tempting but not enough to make me part with my X100 just yet.

However, to choose between the X100s and X-E1 is different but also more difficult to choose. The X100s is more compact but the X-E1 is more flexible.

I do love my X-E1 with the 35/1.4 but sometimes I prefer the wider 23mm of my X100.

I suppose you need to decide what focal length you prefer and whether you need the flexibility.

If you're ok with a fixed 35mm lens then personally I would choose the X100s over the X-E1. Then you can buy the X-E1s/X-E2 when its released.... biggrin.gif

thanks for your reply so far... indeed x100s vs xe1 is really really tough for me...
and after read your comment, i'm more to x100s... but to be honest, i do feel 35mm deliver better IQ compare to the 23mm..

i am actually a newbie... and my fren do suggest me get the x100s... start from there because this camera will force you to do more in composition...

definitely AF is important to me as well, undoubted x100s is blazing fast in this... but the question is, is xe1 lag very much behind x100s? i just want to hear from you guys especially in low light situation...

@geek: i am using X100 now for one week long..b4 that read lot of issue on slow AF speed, slow camera response, everything cons on the x100 stated on the web, we easily see it in a magnified way..."forgotten about the pros on x100"...but i never feel these issue drag me down, turn out i am more ready to shoot when the camera is on...since there is a delay in x100 start up, so i pre-frame the picture and then when the camera started up, i am ready to shoot...plus a extreme UHS card..nothing gets in my way

@shockk: mind share where u get your shutter button?

there is nothing to hate bout this camera, plus the box is just lovely but the release of x100s really left x100 in the dust...sad...

Don't bother waiting for X-E2 la. That's around 1 year more. Even the X100 still makes amazing photos today that trashes even full-frame DSLR. What more information you need? brows.gif

If you want the flexibility of changing lenses, just get the wide-angle converter WCL-X100 for X100/X100S, around RM 1k. I'm tempted also but price is a bit high. sweat.gif

Got my custom shutter buttons for the X100S and X-E1 from YL Jaya 33 Accessories Shop. Even got my red original Artisan strap from there. Awesome place! I think they are the only shop retailer in Malaysia that sells them. biggrin.gif

haha! XD
@shockk: or you might want to tell Fuji to make another X100S2 using X100 box...then the release will make another X100 user cry...
now i only notice TS changes the topic title..
but i really impressed that X100 release leave Sigma DP2 and Leica X1 in the dust...
