Bro. I'm in the same boat as u. I've asked the same question a few posts back. General consensus would be new x100 should be around RM2.5k - RM2.6k range with memory card and Fuji original case.

I'm now holding off my temptation and waiting for x100s cos with the improvements and newer features, I don't mind to pay a bit extra.

Hmm I don't think so. In the US, you can get a good second hand one for around 700. That comes up to around 2.1k and even if you include shipping of say 50 bucks, It comes up to only 2.3k max.

guys, by little bit extra i put quotes there. which means, it should come up around RM1k plus.

for me, new one comes around RM2.6k from where I asked so if new one is around RM3.8k then we're looking at around RM1.2k difference.

If RM1.2k justifies all the upgrades for you with the new model, then i think it make sense to wait around. else, I guess x100 is a uber cool camera which you can grab now.

I just hope nothing major ruins the review of this highly anticipated camera for most of us. Keeping my fingers crossed for reviews

seems like both have the point...x100 that time come out also around 3.5k, seems normal for x100s to have that RRP...but from what i research..x100s does not have much improvement from x100, that improvement worth spending 1k extra on that
i just want my money spent wise...first time getting a big sensor compact camera

early adopter usually pay a little bit more. For someone who use x100 extensively, I differ with ur opinion, and believe the upgrades really worth the money. Although I'm also believe x10 to x20 have a even bigger upgrades.

for x100,

sensor is the eye of the camera, mp + not significant, but the non anti liasing filter tech, will allow sharper pic on paper. This is also the tech behind xpro and xe 1, but still lets wait for reviews and pics.

processor is the brain of the cam, the upgrade to the processor is major for x100 because the major complaints with x100 is "slow". Slow focus, slow startup, slow buffering, slow writing, etc. So upgrade to x100s really change alot.

in sum, Fuji didn't change much with the ergonomics, nor the physical design of the cam, what change, is the inner IQ. And to me, this changes well worth the money.

one thing to ask, is x100 viewfinder size affected by the sensor size?
from what i know, DSLR with APS-C sensor size will have APS-C size viewfinder, FF cam has bigger viewfinder and etc...
is x100 restricted to this or just having a big rangefinder size viewfinder?

To all the Sifu here,

Do you have any tips of focusing in low light conditions? I find that my subject always not getting correct focusing during lowlight and always get blurred out.

Thanks!

copy frm d net

The optical viewfinder has a magnification of 0.5x and the frame line covers 90% of the subject. Outside of the frame line it provides a slightly wider view of the subject than the sensor 'sees', enabling users to keep track of objects just outside the frame

x100 always kinda hard to focus in low light, manual focus is a good option for it
