yeah..from your settings and what i see from my cheap CRT monitor..you purposely want to underexpose the background but try to to illuminate the car right? hmm.gif

turning on the headlights would create a much better effect in my noob opinion as it will greatly emphasise the car with the additional glow. blush.gif

can try turning the wheels to the extreme left would also look nice.. blush.gif

evilhomura89: there is a lot of time, and reviews (even canon and nikon body review) when writing pros and cons, the writer sometimes seem to have nothing else to write about the cons, they start finding micro faults or (very)personal opinion to write.

pros, good WL ability, then con, lack of flash control? what does it means? (i am pretty sure he is trying to compare with D90/7000 in body commander mode).

* No in camera editing for still or video at all
* No art filters or fun effects

i LOL at this, even they have it, i doubt i ever will use it either. will you? and so on, time to time, u have to learn to read the cons, or even the pros (which sometimes misleads) and filter/understand the whole picture of the camera wink.gif

yea...after reading the cons, i would love to see how is the performance of a580  rclxms.gif

The cons doesn't bother if you're more intend to still photos instead of DSLR Cinematography or serious sports Photography

The IQ is almost the same as A550 and I didn't notice the big difference

What I really know the CON's for A33/A55 is the battery life is short, limited control on maximum burst speed and video and also some overheating issue if you use Movie Mode during SSS ON often.

For size whether you like small or big camera, if you want big camera go for A550/A560/A580, if you want smaller and lighter camera without concern about the battery grip add ons just head for A33/A55

Anyway things will end up a final decision when you touch and try the camera and compare, only from there you will know the difference and whats the camera you like.

Yes you can use with 1 battery but you need to put the battery at slot 2 (BATTERY 2) from the battery magazine, the A550 Phottix Battery Grip also works on A200,A300,A350 as well

However unlike original one the battery will consume both (If you insert both 2 battery) battery consumption

Grip is okay for me: feels good but compare to original the grip is more rough I said but again you get what you paid. In terms of durability, so far I used for almost 8 months and it never stripped off or what so ever just the button icon will be slightly fade off after you use it for a very long term

Yeah it is quite fragile look by the way xD but it makes the A550 feels very good to hold especially when you mount it with primes IMO [:

and yeah forgot to say Happy Birthday mate >__< !!

ahpingko: Err I brought it from a forumer ... with postage and price is around RM180~220

Thanks for the useful replies. I guess I'll have to visit SonyStyle to play with it.
All I wanted to get is my first DSLR that I won't regret and won't be upgrading for the next few years (5 years at least i think). Without sufficient experiences, choosing the right one can be quite hard for me as I'm not exactly sure of what I want and need.
I can't deny that the a33/55 is way to attractive with it's innovative features and not to mention that Sony did invest alot in marketing for this line. Being able to hit 7/10fps is a plus since the SLTs are similar to other DSLRs in terms of taking nice portraits and macro shots by using the right lens. In terms of IQ, i think most of the DSLRs out there are on par under good light condition and Sony EXMOR sensor proved to be quite good under low light condition with high ISO + low noise.

I have friends who are mainly N and C users thus the chances of them trying to pull me over to the N/C ship is quite high thus asking them would be useless. For some reason, I think there's a Sony fanboy in me. blush.gif

All i know for sure at the moment is either sacrifice battery life for smaller light body or vice versa.

Based on the cons, i don't understand the following
* Way too many warnings, lockouts, and restrictions on too many of the A33's features - What kinds of restriction?
* Limited flash control Isn't there like "Auto, On, Off, Red-Eye, Slow Sync, High Speed Sync, Rear Curtain, Fill-in, Wireless"?
* Very limited customization in the menu system, no room for the learning and growing photographer to expand I don't get this at all
* No spot toggle for AEL err??
* Focus Magnifier could have been designed better (shuts off when you half press the shutter, difficult to use at times) Don't understand either
* Manual doesn't have enough details details like??

i. restriction like, iso cant be set in panasweep mode (when u press iso button in panasweep mode)... lol, on other brand, when u meet restriction, they just keep quiet, a way to avoid confrontation. i wish sony can give a selection to turn off the help/warning... so when we press the iso button, it just ignore us... we human automatic knows, that button dont work. LOL.

ii. that is the thing, first it say, got good WL function, then say limited, WTF. what the hell he talking about? i bet is he comparing with nikon D90/7000 inbody commander mode.

iii. well, like nikon, they can customise their Fn button or extra button laying around for special function. DOF preview, pre flash test etc etc.

iv. well, he is, again, comparing a rm2499rrp camera with a rm4xxxrrp camera.

v. this is an issue that i understand, i rate it as firmware issue that can be fix. let wait for new firmware.

vi. that why i say, some reviewer are like that, future more, this guy who wrote this, had a big issue with sony last time, now he is still resent sony... sad.gif

IMO...i will buy the camera which feels more comfortable in my own hands..the extra features are of course bonuses..

camera bodies keep getting better every 6 months..you really can't keep with the pace in technology..especially if you are a sony user..first NEX series then now SLT..i wonder how many more revolutions can they produce...? laugh.gif

when i got my dinosaur..iso 800 was all the hype..2 years fast forward, now if your camera no iso 6400 cannot sell at all.

on the hand... you don't get high quality lenses every 6 months...or sometimes maybe 1 or 2 new really good lenses once a year...hence, i think, its better to get better lenses rather than keep waiting for better camera bodies.

shootkk - Understand you rmeaning but i am into taking still photo more than video (at least for now). I still need to do a lot of reading and get myself DSLR. For now, a55 is my choice.

zstan - my budget is around ~3k only. a900 is totally out of budget

my friend is asking me to get Nikon so we can share accessories. Guess my dilemma will fade away after i have gotten myself one DSLR. Now still can play around with choices.
