albnok: you tested that a33 at BTS?

my friend is asking me to wait for a55 instead of getting a33. Too many choices and end up dont know which to pick

I have tested a33 at BTS today and found out the IQ is not that sharp (picture viewed via LCD). My best guess is my photography skill s*ck.

Note - Picture taken under "Auto" mode.

mowkey, so you are saying the IQ is sharp? I wonder what went wrong when i tried it out.

Personally, I like the EVF. Nice.

shootkk - Understand you rmeaning but i am into taking still photo more than video (at least for now). I still need to do a lot of reading and get myself DSLR. For now, a55 is my choice.

zstan - my budget is around ~3k only. a900 is totally out of budget

my friend is asking me to get Nikon so we can share accessories. Guess my dilemma will fade away after i have gotten myself one DSLR. Now still can play around with choices.

Initially i am quite surprise when i see Sony thread is moving faster than Nikon or Canon thread. Before I browse through this thread, always thought either the 2 brands are dominating the market.

I will be getting 50mm macro lens..hopefully soon enough. I prefer to take close-up picture.

16-105mm will be my day to day normal usage lens. Excellent built.

will post up picture soon. I am still learning..newbie in SLR/SLT..

I would say it is balance but the whole thing is kinda heavy since 16-105mm lens is metal barrel. 470gm. Body 440gm.

Sony and Minolta 50mm Macro F2.8 has awesome bokeh and sharpness in F2.8 compare to 50mm F1.4 (although they serve in different purposes)

Some people may felt weird to serve as macro but for me which used for almost 3 months and I have to said this is a great macro+portrait combo lens I ever seen !

50mm Macro cost ~1.2k

Hope I can keep poison away for a while before damaging my pocket further.
