Got the RB250GS yesterday. Thanks to klseet for arranging the purchase. It was great effort of him.
I Was having problems with my new Asus RT-N16 wireless router last night until 2am. The wireless signal kept on dropping and reconnect intermittently. Went to digital mall today and they exchanged a new one for me. Now everything is up and running smoothly without problem. my wireless connection and internet connection are consistent without problem. Tested with simultaneous online TV and radio streaming on 2 notebooks, BT downloading at PC, TM IPTV live stream, HD movies on asus oplay multimedia player and TV streaming on my smartphone using Wifi connetion. Everything works well except the asus multimedia player occasionally lag probably because i am using Aztech 200Mbps Homeplug ethernet adaptor that has red signal. I was just wondering if i change the powerline plug to gigabit speed adaptor, would it make any difference in terms of connection speed between my PC and router when currently the signal already in Red. Really great experience. Now my DIR-615 can be kept as back up. Just a reminder to those already acquired RB250GS. Becareful when unplug the power adaptor. I broke the cover when unplugging yesterday. What i did was i pulled the top portion of the adaptor when unplugging and the cover separated. fortunately it is still usable after using wiring plastic tape to adhere it. Otherwise i may need to look for new power adaptor!!! |

KLSEET & Riz bro! Thank you very much for the bulk order and wonderful guide respectively =) ! This little chap works real neat! ...
Just to clarify things up, I noticed its running 100Mbps instead of 1000Mbps from Riz's guide... My guess is im using the normal RJ45 cable ... so perhaps if i change it, it will work at 1000Mbps... just to inform everyone =P |

QUOTE(David3850 @ Sep 26 2010, 04:27 PM) The router that tm provides me have this problem. Every few minutes the router will drop connection. Can't access the router's page, and router needs to be restarted. It happens every few minutes. Is the router spoilt? Do you run any P2P program like torrent and the like?1- Added on September 26, 2010, 8:32 pmAnyway, since nobody answered my question on the firmware, I went ahead uploading the 41k file, it went ahead but give no indication that it has successfully uploaded .. waited many minutes without any changes in the status (it was saying something like do not interrupt the process or something like that) .. so, decided to turn it off .. and back on .. yippe .. it was updated to 1.2 .. and all are okay .. iptv works, internet too .. thanks to klseet for the bulk buy and rizzy for the guide. Got the rb250 this afternoon. 8 pm, the whole thing was up. Follow http://unifi.athena.my/index.php?option=co...id=55&Itemid=67 to the LETTER and you will have NO PROBLEMS. REMEMBER upgrade firmware to 1.2.
I checked speedtest and ping test and everything checks out. But when I surf (maybe it's me), I feel it's abit slower than the stupid DIR615 configuration. - i completely dump the DIR 615. Its now BTU -->RB250GS--> Asus N16 --> Cisco AP 1225G --> PC. Things that I might do if I am TU LAN 1.replace the Asus N16 with a Cisco 26xx (the 2611 with FREE IOS) for establishing PPPOE connection 2. replace the Asus N16 with a Cisco VLAN Manageable switch - i know the 37xx does it, but it cost a BOMB....any suggestion people? for .500 tagging and un tagging. Utorrent (MAC) is now at 1881 kb/s - not too bad a big thanks to KLSEET!!!! |

It's my honour to meet up & chat with you guys, I truly appreciate & thank you for your many TQs !!
I also want to thank Riz for your help to us, without your recommendation & guidance, we might be still struggling right now!! Phew, I guess we can now really sit back, relax & enjoy UniFi liao .... Btw, Soliton replied and apologised for the RB750G price mistake, I've amended the post for anyone who might be interested in buying the MikroTik: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=36581689 Cheers! QUOTE(crittertoo @ Sep 26 2010, 09:35 PM) Its now BTU -->RB250GS--> Asus N16 --> Cisco AP 1225G --> PC. Wah bro, your setup quite complicated la... may i know what's that Cisco AP doing? N16 can be AP also right?Things that I might do if I am TU LAN 1.replace the Asus N16 with a Cisco 26xx (the 2611 with FREE IOS) for establishing PPPOE connection 2. replace the Asus N16 with a Cisco VLAN Manageable switch - i know the 37xx does it, but it cost a BOMB....any suggestion people? for .500 tagging and un tagging. Utorrent (MAC) is now at 1881 kb/s - not too bad a big thanks to KLSEET!!!! I might be wrong, I have Asus RT-N10 & N12, I noticed both units the stock standard firmware really unstable, especially during heavy down/up loading & online gaming.... I tried to play around the Qos, the result doesn't seem to improve, in fact worst! Eventually I flashed N12 with dd-wrt, no more such problem, it works like my other dd-wrt routers as expected! However, I do notice both N10 & N12 rather stable when configure to run on bridging mode even on stock firmware, this might be due to the Broadcom chipset I guess.... I'm not sure N16, but my guess the stock firmware could be the reason you "feel" slower internet. You may want to try another router [without the Cisco first] to determine whether it's the N16 or Cisco problem... This post has been edited by klseet: Sep 26 2010, 09:50 PM |

Landasan selling RB750G @ RM310 is really ripping off, even with the shipping cost for 1 unit it is still cheaper than landasan.

Thanks klseet!
He's a nice guy, COD was a breeze and I know it's a lot of effort from him. Kudos! Just follow the guide line by line you should be up in a jiffy. One thing to note, when you upgrade the FW... the update status is near top of the screen. I'm on netbook so screen was small. I upgraded and screen doesn't change. I thot nothing happened! I tried another go... and this time scroll all over and saw the status at top! Luckily it works! Will be testing iptv in short while. Thanks again klseet and riz! |
