I've been getting some PMs inquiry about MikroTik lately, please note that I'm NOT the seller! sweat.gif

For those who want to buy MikroTik, you may contact Soliton SG directly, they have prepared some package pricing including shipment cost to KL for RB250GS, RB750 & RB750G for LYN members as follows

[attachmentid=1800887]

Sep2010 price list: [/B][attachmentid=1800900]

You can either buy individually or group few others to save shipping cost. If you want to bulk purchase a lot, try to split them into 20pc in a box.
You may contact them:

Soliton Networks Technology Pte Ltd
Block 750C, #02-04, Chai Chee Technopark,
Singapore 469003
Tel +65 6245 0962
Email: sales@soliton-networks.com

Look for Mr. Yitong, just mentioned you are from KL LowYat Net forum member will do!

Good luck, cheers! icon_rolleyes.gif

EDIT: order 3000 USD for qualify partnership discount....Damn thats Approx 65 units, we almost reach there. sweat.gif

Hi all, I have a question on TM STB.

What's the USB port (left and rear) for? Are they able to read external HDD for movie, pictures, etc. ? I have checked the STB manual, nothing mention on its function.

Thanks in advance

the usb port is for easy WDS setup. Its not meant for external storage nor can it be used for that.

Some router offer that functionality however :/

klseet or anyone with the RB250GS, can you confirm that the 1.2 firmware is 41kb? I downloaded the file from rizvanrp website .. it is unbelieveablely small.. so, wondering if I got the right firmware.

Thank you Klseet. My internet works now using the Microtik RB250GS :}

Very satisfied.

The firmware on the device wasn't the latest so i used Rivzan's file. It still showed the old version, so i pulled out the power plug wait 30 seconds, then plug back in. It then correctly shows the updated version.

I had to change my pc ip address. Rivan's guide didn't say how, so i found a useful guide how to do it
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/25949-42...address-windows

Next i just configure the settings in the switch. Once all done, i unplug and plug it all accordingly based on Rivzan's guide.

Internet didn't connect, so i went to network and click on the internet connection to fix. It said it automatically fix it by resetting back the ip adddress to enable DHCP.

Now the internet works nod.gif

All done. Internet Work, IPTV work. Thanks KLstreet for everything.

This RB250GS is as what other said, no lag when switching Channel on IPTV. rclxm9.gif

Now it is time to dig some torrent and IPTV at the same time. cool2.gif

for the 615 I think I swap between RB250GS and 615 every month. laugh.gif

For those need to get the 1.2 firmware,

either get it from Rizvansite or get it from mikrotik directly

http://www.mikrotik.com/download.html

1. Select SwOS
2. All versions
3. SwOS v1.2
4. Change your IP address to 192.168.88.2, subnet 255.255.255.0 to be able to connect to the switch.
5. update the firmware according to Rizvan site. Wait 5 min.
6. Reboot the router
7. Log out
8. Turn off for 30 sec. (I actually turn off for 5 sec only. icon_idea.gif )
9. Turn on, then the Switch SwOS is updated with 1.2

KLSEET, Thank you for bringing in the RB250!

I'm running in this little device and after configuring it everything works as it should.

Yes the v1.2 firmware is unbelievably small but then again the interface is minimalist but functional and easy to understand.

For those who flashed the firmware and it still shows V1.0, wait at least 5 minutes after flashing and the power off (30 seconds) and power back on again.

I see my torrent download speed fluctuate between 1mb/s and 1.2 mb/s

This is better than with the dlink as it's more stable now.

I haven't tested for iptv yet becauz i need to find an extra cable to link the modem and the switch.

Thx klseet, you've done the lowyat community a great service notworthy.gif

Thanks klseet for being helpful organize 250gs bulk.

Upgraded the firmware. The status does not show any progress. I've waited for 10 min, nothing happened. Reboot the switch, and it showed 1.2. Assuming the firmware upgrade is successful. Proceed the setup, all good.

This small switch really solved the problems.
