no any deposit/up front payment needed?

Deposit wise have to ask the agent.. But I know d installation fee is waived until june (rm200) grab it fast if u want it.. It's better alternative if compare to unifi.. Cheaper n higher speed. With free phone calls some more..

No deposit actually.....also waived till 30 June 2012. Or not, the phone deposit fee would be RM75 for Malaysians and RM300 for non-Malaysians.

Yeap, loads of free calls to Maxis mobile numbers and also on the customers Maxis postpaid line itself... :-)

Guys, I want to ask
1)where are the majority of you guys using the service?
2)Any downtime experience?
3)How's the customer service?
4)How to pay the bill and billing charges?

The new offer is very tempting and my area (Bdr Sri Damansara) is in both Unifi and Maxis FTTH.

Hope you guys can answer my question notworthy.gif

Unfortunately, that is not possible. The current TM phone line/number has to be terminated and upon registration of Maxis Fibre Home, a new number will be assigned. It will be a local area prefix number (etc: 03-XXXX XXXX) for Klang Valley area.

QUOTE(thamch @ May 19 2012, 02:47 PM)
I signed up 3 days ago.  According to the Maxis salesman, it comes with Astro IPTV 20 or 30 channels basic package(FOC).  Launch end June and go Maxis Center to collect the IPTV decoder. :-)
*
30 channels basic that astro normally offer is it? (like rtm1,2 n etc)?
Comes with decoder?

For those that have subscribed to Maxis Home, have you found any need to change the Thomson router, to say a TP-Link or Asus? A quick glance at the Unifi threads show that changing routers is almost a given.

So, can you change to your own equipment and if you did, what was your experience? Brands and models and settings used would be helpful to the community.

Like lionelzc and ressko, I too got plenty of questions. Seems like there are not many Maxis Fibre users here on lowyat b*tching about service. For a streamyx user like me, it's all a bit too good to be true. Are there really no problems / downtime / DCs / slow connections with Maxis Fibre, or are Maxis users just not hanging out in Lowyat?

The 24-months contracting is off-putting, but I pay the same amount for the new 10MB plan and I only get 1MB from Streamyx. Not gonna keep doing that any longer.

another 5 months

how is the process like?  Need to go telekom to terminate Unifi and then go apply Maxis FTTH?

If next time got problem with maxis FTTH, call maxis to come fix ?
*
Yes, you would need to walk into the nearest TM Point to terminate UniFi and at the same time, apply for Maxis FTTH. Most of my customers apply such that the termination date coincides with the installation date of Maxis FTTH.

All fibre cable internet providers have a 24 months contract at the moment and it is standard as the cost to lay out the infrastructure is really quite costly.

More value added goodies will come for sure.... :-)
