I need some advice here. I just lodged my visa application on Thursday, 11th Sept. I opted for the priority visa service and was told the visa will be ready within 3 to 5 business days.

My flight to London is on 20th Sept (Next Saturday). If the passport is ready by the 5th business day, I should be able to collect it next Friday (19th Sept).

I am wondering if I should reschedule my flight just in case if they take more than 5 business day to process my visa.

mine was done in 2 days, submitted on fri, received email on tues stating its done, then collected on fri the same week

it's not the application process you should worry about, its the courier service. although mine was done on tues, it took them 2 days to send over to VFS. when i received the email on thurs its already past 2pm, so i got no choice but to collect on fri

however i guess you should not worry much, should be able to make it. worst case scenario, if you didn't receive any email by 2pm on fri, then you should call and reschedule your flight

Seniors got any tips for secondhand shopping? My accommodation doesn't come with a lot of essentials (clothes rack, mirrors, kitchen appliances etc) so i'm looking to buy them secondhand.

Are the locals okay with negotiating the price?
How did you guys do it? I know of my university's online noticeboard, but not everyone lists their stuff there. How do you approach people who don't?

Thanks smile.gif

Just hand it in. The only thing they're looking for in your TB cert is your medical results. But if you want, you can clarify the mistake when you're applying for your visa and see if they would accept it. They should.

Btw, we Malaysians do not have to register for the police upon reaching the university right?

There is no limit. However, if you carrying cash (in any currency) equivalent to 10,000 euros or more you have to declare it to Customs under the Money Laundering Act.

Well, it's useful as a source of identification to bring around (age verification purposes especially) since carrying your passport has a higher chance of being lost. smile.gif

In which case you stand an equal chance of loosing your IC as well..

Some places in UK may recognise it as proof of age, but officially, it is not excepted....eg by banks....

Proof of age, as in being allowed to drink, is best served by the student card....
