the hts will still need to comply with the language requirement and ensure you have the minimum before they can issue the cas.....gce-o /spm 1119 is not in the list of approved english qualifications.....

Certain university's might accept it, but it is NOT acceptable for visa application purposes. However, if you're going to a HTS sponsor for a degree level course, english is no longer a requirement Malaysian students need to fulfill during visa application.

But isnt the university that issue the CAS ? And UKBA issue the visa based on CAS number ? I understand that its depend on the UCAS where the offer has IELTS requirement for each individual university.

To be sure, I would advice TS to call the UK embassy to verify.

the english requirement is new, only introduced in 2011....before that, only the respective unis have their own individual language requirement....the tier4 visa does not demand any english certification for people embarking on a degree course.....(there is requirement for lower level courses)

after april 2011, english requirement was added as a requirement by ukba for all courses.....and the hts unis tasked to ensure students' compliance before they issue the cas.....

in any case, just sit for ielts lah....

the gce-0 grading for the 1119 (spm english paper code) is just the essay paper re-marked to gce level.....

No need for that. Since you're sponsored, you have to request the financial affidavit from your sponsor, which in this case is Shell for them to confirm your financial capability to live in UK.

Unless you need a really powerful desktop, you're better off buying a Dell laptop + screen when you're in the UK, and sell it when you're leaving.  As a student, you're entitled to discounts as well.  Any Core i5 machine is more than enough for undergraduate engineering degree. 

If you still insist of posting for some reason, you can consider service from Seven Seas, which will take about 70-90 days by sea.  Don't forget to factor in insurance, and packaging as it will no doubt get thrown around during transit.

I'm of the opinion that one is better off buying it locally, and sell it off four years later.  Seven Seas only provide cardboard boxes, and you might want to look into getting your own boxes, e.g. wooden crate, which provides better protection. 

The shipping, with all the costs inclusive, like clearing at custom, insurance etc, a guesstimate is it'll cost around 300+ USD, which can be put into your purchase. 

I don't think Leeds is that bad, it's close to York, which is a beautiful place.  Plus you have the new Trinity Leeds, which pretty much means you have access to almost everything.
