hi sifu..
i'm noob in OC..
but i wanna try OC..
what should i use for vcore and fsb?

my spec:
c2d e7400
asus p5ql pro
2x1g 1066mhz
psu 500watt
*
Try to increase the fsb slowly using stock vcore first, see how high it can go. Then when u reach the limit only u increase the vcore slowly to reach ur desired clock.

Just wana ask,
Among the E8400, E8500 and E8600,
which one is the best to overclock?
uhm, I would like to little overclock on stock voltage,
means like which one the best to clock or go to best speed at stock voltage?

and which among them have the best temperature?
I am thinking to move from Q6600 back to E8X00...

of coZ the e8600 bro...

pure overclocker lor... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

To make it run at 1066, u need to play with the divider bro. smile.gif

To start things up, do let us know your current settings first.

The RAM is running at 800MHz@1.8v, while the CPU is 2.4GHz@1.35V.

If I'm not mistaken, the multiplier of the CPU is 12.

That is normal bro, its caused by the core's position under the IHS. No worries. smile.gif

so it is always like that with everyone else?

btw, whats the max 'safe' temps for Q9550? i mean what temp reading i should be avoiding from reaching? i wanna try 4GHz later but afraid of over high temp.huhu.

bro,go to the bios. change ur ram divider. for ur mobo, i think its called "System Memory Multiplier".from there, choose the option that will change ur ram to 1066.

u wanna run at stock speed or wanna OC it? if stock speed, u can determine your stock CPU voltage using Real Temp(check for the CPU VID).then, set ur voltage according to it.

Hmm... i oc-ed to 3.2GHz..

The VID was 1.325V. Even after I raised it, it was still the same.

I raised it to 1.45v. Was running Sp2004 for 20 min then it restarted..

have you tried adding the CPU termination(a.k.a. vtt), CPU PLL, and MCH core? those numbers can really help in OC.
