I still can't really comprehend the red card appeal, Torres was nowhere near the ball and was only running towards it (not even with the ball towards the goal), so it is not a foul of preventing a goal scoring opportunity..or maybe i'm just not clear with the rule. It does seem like a last man foul, but the fact that he is not even targetting the goal makes the "goal-scoring opportunity" part invalid and thus not a red card?  hmm.gif

u are referering to the foul lead to a penalty...?

last man fouls is lead to free kick and yellow card.. biggrin.gif

the rule is that last man tackling a player = red card. it appears that oshea is the last defender by using the same outside rule where oshea is in front of vidic or evans. oshea was given a yellow to my opinion was either he thought he is not the last man? or that no way torres could have gotten the ball. but whatever the ifs are gerrard scored the fk.

ah ok. i tot that rule have to come hand by hand, like the rule of handball and the term "intentional" etc.

It's a last man tackle, so usually u get a red especially when u bring down a man wic has a goal scoring opportunity (No matter with or without the ball)..

In my opinion the Ref got it right, it was last man tackle but the ball was too far and Van Der Sa would have got to the ball first.. So nothing to complaint about as we should be more happier because we managed to score through the free kick and I doubt Torres could has scored even if was given the chance as Van Der Sa would have been diving towards the ball and made it almost impossible for Torres to shoot...

Good having you there buddy. As much as you think it's the organisers that make an event a success, the fans play a more important role. It's like I said last night, it's only half time. They still have to come to Anfield. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing but we're a different proposition at home.

nice see u there too , I guess you are the one wearing shankly shirt white colour? I saw u last time in Breakers and for sure I will keep following the next gathering if possible ,love the YNWA at the end =)

Surprisingly, he can still lunge in on Konchesky...Thought, that would at least break his tissue-paper-made legs into pieces.

Agger should have smack him last night that c.ronaldo wannabe

Sure. Here it is.

QUOTE
Daniel Agger has admitted that he is frustrated by Roy Hodgson’s style of play at Liverpool.

The attack-minded defender will be eager to forget his brief cameo at Old Trafford yesterday after failing to prevent the cross that led to Dimitar Berbatov’s winning goal just two minutes after he had replaced Paul Konchesky at left-back.

Agger, who was also left out of the starting line-up against Birmingham City last weekend, has lifted the lid on his frustrations behind Hodgson’s approach to games and has refused to alter his natural game despite fears that it could see him overlooked for a regular place in the side.

"The manager's philosophy is that we play football in attack, but not at the back. That's not my style," he told Sporten.dk

“I'm not that type of player. I like to keep the ball on the ground, and that's what I'll keep doing. Time will show if he [Hodgson] doesn't want to play me because of that".

"I'll try to change myself, but I will never be a player who offloads the ball at every opportunity."

"I'll fight for my chance. I know what I stand for, and I think he [Hodgson] does too".

If I'm not mistaken, Carragher told Skrtel off to not give Nani any help. lol

A disgrace to what supposed to a good(if not great) match.... Most of that were ridiculous....

I will just pick few...

The one where he hold his face like he just got a big nice slap from his gf who dump him.

Next, the one poulsen push into him and he acted as if a lorry just knocked into him... Brilliant...Should be up there nominated for Oscar award or smth...

Lastly, the one in the box, I dont think Agger even touch him and there, he falls like an invisible hand just dragged him down...

Great actor... From Ronaldo , Rooney to Nani, Fergie got a hand in training up actors that good for Oscar award...Bet that must be why he bought them in the first place, potential of acting above footballing reason.

Spot on. Players like him deserve to be yellow-carded and fined by FA. Disgrace to football.

no wonder, i kept wondering why skrtel is picked ahead of agger n my best was the former is more of a no nonsence kind of def like carra. but i'd like to see agger playing alongside carra once again, as we seem out of sorts at the back. now, i'm getting very frustrated with fans that have no idea what YNWA stands for, making jokes n fun of that.. i meant the manu fans.

+1

its very disturbing to the eyes of the natural for such an act..drogba, ronaldo, gerrard all have been blamed for diving as well..but nothing beat this guy..its like 6-7 dives in a match..its EPIC..

Agger is right, i do also hate Roy 'long ball' tactic.. more goals conceded, less chances created, pure boring!

Maybe thats the reason why a Carragher and Skrytel partnership is kept from the first game. And why maybe Agger was chosen to be at LB considering he likes those runs.
