reading too much sport news perhaps or the fact that Rafa was replaced by a not-so-successful manager or maybe because one of the best holding midfielder is trying to leave or maybe because of our financial difficulties that we might get 9 points deduction by the end of the season if the debt keep rising... well, plenty of reasons to think about. still a lot to do especially in the build up play. we need more support run from the central midfielder but rite now only stevie has the legs to run from box to box.

I think it'll be around 16-18 mil of initial fee.. the point is now how hodgson going to spend it.. there're several option:

1. to buy a replacement in defensive midfielder - I think Lucas is very poor defensively and Poulsen can't play every game week in week out. It will be a mistake to play Gerrard in a defensive role.

2. a much needed left back - I don't think it's wise to play Agger in that position.. he'll struggle against a pacey winger. Insua is doubtful to stay. So we're left with Aurelio and Kelly(the right-back)

3. to add another 'good' striker - Torres seems to be injury prone in the last couple seasons... N'gog and Babel are inconsistent.. both have a long way to go to be considered as a striker for a club which challenging for the tittle.

or

4. give up all the money for the Yanks to pay the loan interest..

I don't think it's his fault.. When Rafa were forced to leave, everyone was thinking of following his footstep but at least Roy did a good job to convince the irreplaceable stevie and torres to stay.. meanwhile, Masch, Yossi and Riera already made their mind long before he arrived.

Roy has already promoted spanish starlet Pacheco to the first team dressing room.. giving him the no 12 shirt. so if one is not given a chance, maybe he is not good enough.. with recent transfer activities, I think Roy is actually a man with a plan...

Somehow, Rafa will always be thankful for bring in the like of Torres, Luis, Reina, Xabi, Masch, Fowler, Yossi, Agger, Skrtel, Johnsy... despite the fact he wasted plenty more money on those fringe players.

2 defensive midfielder at home against WBA?? what a joke! Sorry Roy, but I've seen this kind of over cautious strategy been used too often by our previous manager before. And why did you put the only creative player who can dictate the game and control the flow, too far forward as a 2nd striker especially when you got Pacheco, Babel or N'gog who can play in that position. Seems like players just kick the ball away and hoping something to happen. Absolutely there's no pattern in the build up play.. Can't wait for Meireles, Cole and Konchesky to start. And as for the CB, i'd prefer Agger than Skrtel.. Skrtel's man marking is poor, too prone of making silly foul in crucial area. Btw, Lucas should be offloaded comes January.. He's been too average.

we've already signed Poulsen, shelvy, Meireles and Cole. Also we already got Lucas and Spearing so I don't think we should wasted more money (that we don't really have much) on another central midfielder. Plus, with Cole playing, Gerrard will be a regular playmaker.
