this is not funny considering mancity is taking our place as top4 now.

with that kind of lineup I am sure we are going thr to win the match , midfield and left side just been raped by them and tough game ahead for us but still YNWA, never give up till the end

remember chelsea lost to wigan last season 3-1 and manu lost 2-0 to fulham last season , give up only we lost 10th match otherwise stand up and back up our team , what the player will feel if we as supporters already give up on first 2 match?stand up and back the team , city strategy works against us and it is still early to correct our mistake now

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Sep 2 2010, 05:50 PM)
What I'd like to see is the team become less reliant on Torres. He's not had the best support and too often, we give him the ball, expecting him to conjure something out of nothing. Since he's raided Fulham, I really wish we could have pried Clint Dempsey away. Our attacking options are so limited and too often, we look blunt as we did against West Brom.
*
I am hoping Raul Meireles can do something like Alonso , personally I feel he is alonso-type of player, he often play around with the ball and have very good eye sight . with fit Joe Cole and Gerrard , Torres will get as many supply or through ball he want

it is a positive thing and we cant block what torres want to do , if he feel happy to play for spain then let he play and let him happy , as the return he scored 2 goals and lifted up his morale and is a good things for us

it is not too late for Roy Hodgson to realise this mistake , experiment time is over.

I am confident , Gerrard will play on midfield role once Joey coming back from his suspension ,we need Yossy or Joe Cole those type of player to open opponent tight marking system in where I think Jovanovic and Maxi fail to do so.

Even Carra and Skrtel struggle with Jerome pace and Konchesky? He have a good left foot but he seems in doubt to cross the ball to near post.Johnson play terrible today and have few bad 1st touch.

Seriously sometimes I am tired seeing Lucas and Poulsen passing the ball back to defender and how Carra everytime shoot up the ball without looking at the front player. At first I thought Jova will eat Carr alive but nope ... quite a dissapointing match but hope something new will happen next week. YNWA

the fact is..i want slap Liverpool ....
wtf midfield do? if cant be like Alonso, then try to be 90% of Alonso....and where is the through pass???? arghhhhhhhhh......stresss!!!!

well , this match is still better than when we lose 2-0 to portsmouth when they are in last ranking , St.Andrew is a tough place to go and in my opinion it is still no late for Roy Hodgson to correct his mistake.

QUOTE(elnino @ Sep 13 2010, 01:19 AM)
while birmingham did played well for the game, today's match prove one thing, our team is slowly turning into a mid-table mentality team. Hesitant in executing counter attacks, obvious nervousness among our players, scurrying for balls throughout the game instead of organized marking and hold-up play, and many more.

and playing 2 players who went clueless upon having the ball on their feet won't help in any way. 4th game off the season, even though it's still early into the season, the sign is not encouraging. Hopefully the team will prove me wrong sooner rather than later.

On a sidenote, would love to see the following lineup for the MU match
                    Reina

Johnson  Carra  Agger  Konchesky

                      Raul

            Gerrard    Jova

            Cole        Babel

                    Torres
*
too attacking style and with Carra and Agger, I dont think much can change from this system

our best lineup IMO is

reina
johnson carra skrtel konchesky

lucas(he sux today but he play well against ManU last season)

gerrard cole Babel/Jova

Ngog
Torres

with Ngog playing width on right and Gerrard helping in centre

you'd have ngog wide on the right?? seriously?
---------------reina--------------------

johnson---carra--skrtel--koncesky
------poulsen----gerrard----

-----------meireles---------------

kuyt--------------------------cole
-------------torres-----------------
this for me is our strongest line up in our squad right now.
*
Gerrard on Right and most of the time Ngog on right to get the ball and dribble it .Torres must be leave alone and he need alot of space

Alonso is not about passing....the art of passing is not too difficult...

Its the way he control the tempo...Even Stevie G doesnt have that gift.....

one of the reason why lampard , fellaini , vidic , get red card last 2 years ago . The way he boss the midfield is superb but that is past tense , lets move forward and i think meireles can do wat alonso done last few years

hey guys ,

just some off topic discussion , who the other players you think play similar to xabi alonso?

raul meireles looks more like attacking midfielder to me last night and I always get confused between him and Joe Cole .(poor internet streaming sad.gif )

player that play almost similar to xabi in my opinion is Banega , Xavi , Arteta , Scott Parker =( I dont have much choice as I only follow up Spanish League and BPL

Watched again the highlight.... It was actually Lucas' poor first touch that led to his goal  tongue.gif  rclxms.gif
*
but a goal still a goal and he deserve some credit for that goal tongue.gif , I will put Lucas for MU game since he played very well in last 2 match against MU last season.

I think on

left flank is battle between

Jovanovic and Konchesky

vs

Gary Neville/John Oshea and Nani

right flank should be

Johnson and Maxi(he play very well yesterday)

vs

Evra and Giggs

more concern bout our midfield where I am sure either Lucas or Poulsen will play against MU =(

it is between

Gerrard and Lucas/poulsen

vs

Fletcher and Scholes

you know that guy who karate kick xabi in final WC?that's his evil twin

Xabi has grown softer in real madrid.he's not the clint eastwood i know anymore.

Nigel De Jong biggrin.gif he play for ManCity now and he is more like a Huddlestone-type player for me tongue.gif

I can still remember how Cahill , Fellaini , Vidic , Lampard get red card when played against Alonso

Pirlo is too old to be switching clubs actually...plus he loves his club so much, he won't leave unless Milan sells him.

Alonso is still young and has a better chance to come back though...since Madrid likes to do player clearances once in a while  brows.gif

Anyways good performance from our 2nd stringers. If Joe Cole didn't get a red card and played the 2nd half vs Arsenal....and also vs Man C, Birmingham, I'm sure he can make a difference. Damn.  hmm.gif

But anyways, at least he's back now, with our new box-to-box mdf , Raul Meireles. Liverpool can now play with more creativity and pace up front if those two stay fit the whole season!  smile.gif

one thing I like about Alonso is he didnt depend much on his pace to play the game.Compare to Mascherano and Gerrard he is slower but he use his experience and skill greatly. He can be our new Gary Mac =)

it is either meireles or lucas that will partner with gerrard on midfield , I want see meireles on action but lucas have more experience and better than meireles in defending
