@Clarencerx which online shop do you use in aussie? cause if the price is the same as the US shops, i might get one when i go to aussie instead.

I'm planning to purchase a Asus G51JX real soon. But i still cant decide whether to get the one with 720qm or 820qm.

820qm cost about $300 AUD more than 720qm.

Is the significant different with those two? Worth getting the 820qm?

Really appreciate some replies.

Thanks

However, there is a catch. I saw somebody posted on NBR that GTX 460m is lower clocked GTS 450. But I can't seems to find the same post back. hmm.gif

GTS 360M i s a far better preformer. HD5730m has been reveiwed and its complained due to horrible performance.

Desktop graphic are usually stronger than Notebook Graphic. Their naming is slightly lower than the desktop ones.
So, u shouldn't expect GTX 460m to perform exactly/close to GTX 460(desktop).

Still, does that mean that 460M is slower than 5870 Mobility?

Or their performance is roughly equal.

i wouldn't say its slower or whatever but nvidia could've pumped up gtx 460m performance with more mature driver.

Still, it sucks to buy a new laptop with shitty driver initially.

I know that my old M1530's nVidia driver was damn crappy initially, with the stock ancient driver that cant even run UT3. After updating the drivers, i was able to run on Medium.

the HD5870 is indeed faster than the 460M on the stock driver, but you can OC the 460M to make on par with HD5870. The gap isn't big and i reckon that new driver updates will bring them on even footing.

check this page.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...0M.33612.0.html

and yes, notebook GPUs are inferior to their desktop counterparts, partly due to form factor, power supply, heat and other factors. They do have similar tech and architecture though.

hi guys, a first time laptop user here. I initially thinking of getting alienware at first but i felt it is overpriced if u spec to the max at dell website. I see asus had somekind of "value for money" in it.

i currently looking at asus g laptop either G73 or G53. but what is the diffrence between these 2? Is G73 the top of the G series?

My citeria is:
-I am not the overcloking type person.
-I does the type of person who will use the laptop till it spoil or etc.
-I am going to use the laptop to do officework too and ocassionaly gaming.

I am concern about asus laptop is
- Is it considered reliable compare to other brand gaming laptop?
-How is the support service? especilly australia which i will going there sometime in futrue?

I still wonder which place is best to shop for these laptop? all the while i read here is telling me tat the best palce to buy is in Singapore? Am i correct? How much will it cost if i buy in Malaysia?

Hope you guys can help me ya.

Maybe u would consider Sager, Since u insisted on "value for money". However, sager does not have any warranty HQ for u to RMA in MY. But Sager build is definitely stable.

Asus laptop comes with standard 2 years global warranty which means u can warranty it as long as there's a Asus service centre near u.

There are 2 shops which u could get from depending on Location.
US would be GenTechPC
SG would be recommended SGCubeHub.
