that's the iso performance of both cameras at iso 6400-12800 la.

how often are u going to spam that high? doh.gif

i would still stick with low iso unless i have no choice.

But I think high ISO helps alot what taking photographs in a restaurant as well since using a flash in a high class restaurant will make you stand out indeed blush.gif

unless u r eating candlelight dinner, iso 400-iso3200 can still do the work, with a slow shutter.

Not really, it's impractical to deploy tripod when you are covering events. Big aperture lenses helps a lot in situation like this.

Agreed! nod.gif Haha! You might also need a UWA with wide aperature as you can't possible move around too much thumbup.gif

one of those rare rare rare moments when i boost my iso to iso 1600 to semi freeze the moment. noise removal was quite good with CS3.

Quite agree with this statements especially the events has certain activity with lots of movements under dull lights ... which I have encountered however even sometimes a 70-200 F2.8 wouldn't help that much when the light is freaking dull.... so is quite challenging to handle low light situation without flash support or even it using flash for me it was really really hard to get a good exposure

There was once I was pretty fed up with my 70-200mm f2.8, I dismount it and use 2 primes to cover. That few stops really helps a lot when the lighting is too sucky.
