After a whirlwind romance, I think I'm gonna let my NEX5 go to a new lover. I've been ignoring it for a while n I think it's feeling sad now. laugh.gif

Haha reminds me of Jay Chow's chorus of his song Whirlwind...

Why selling it off so fast?!? Any cons??

New to this thread here, any info I can dig on Sony NEX series? NEX3 and NEX5 please?

Looking to grab one of it, I'm still comparing the NEX to typical alpha series like the a550.
*
The only reason to get NEX, would be the compact size factor... If you're really into photography/Image qualities, go for the Alpha DSLR's

NEX5 is RM2699, standard package, a550 is RM2799 standard package... NEX5 can shoot video somemore...

I'm still considering, why did Sony even release NEX series when it's cheaper than it's own a550, smaller & lighter than a550, has the same censor as the a550, can use a550 lenses, and can shoot 1080p video when a550 cannot!? This is actually why I'm here.

Don't worry I'm currently googling out for even more info as well.
*
Hmm... I am actually just a newbie like you planning to buy NEX-3 in few weeks time lol.. Wait for the other sifus to answer you then..

I think you need a converter to use a550 lens..

*

I am planning to buy twin lens since both got their own uses, so you're saying it's better to use 1855 to take food pictures is it??

Ahh.. My long planned goal! Too bad I didn't get the colour I wanted ><... Apparently Sony Malaysia has stopped providing resellers with Twin Lens nowadays... So ppl who plan to grab 1 of these, better do it fast or else you'll have to get it at Sony store only in the future!

Btw, the seller told me not to charge overnight for the battery for the first time.. 4-6 hours is enough he said....

Another question! Anyone can give me a solution on how to keep the other lens?? Cause the NEX lens dun have the bottom cap which is frustrating! I dun have a dry box or anything....

eugenechiuu: A Carl Zeiss 49mm UV MC Protector is RM250 or so but you should be able to get a Hoya 49mm UV for RM50 or so.

Eh, the twin kit does come with one rear cap for the 16mm F2.8 - check with your seller!
Yea, I only realised it when forumers told me! Damn it.. I already texted the seller to check again, apparently he said it's the first time he handled twin lens so he didn't know there's a rear lens cap...

And the UV filter 49mm Vitacon he recommended me cost me rm110 EACH.... I guess it's quite overpriced right?
