is Marumi filter any good? tried Googling around and some say that it is quite good. anybody have experience with this brand?

I had seen marumi filters. pretty good. get the higher grade ones. You can look for shunfa. Company that he is working for is the agent for marumi filters. the high grade ones is actually more resistant to grease & smudge than the Hoya HD. i had seen him draw on the filter glass of the marumi filter with a marker pen. after that, simply just wipe it off. very good stuff.

hiii..all..i just bought a sony aplha a500d with 2 lens kits yesterday...so hope u guy can give so review about this camera is it better than canon or nikon..coz i just a newbie in here.....

yup, read about that one too. the high grade one is water and oil proof as well. seems like a reliable brand with a lower price tag

you have already bought the camera, so, there's no point of you asking the "is it better than canon or nikon" question... as what most of us here would tell you, its the photographer that makes or breaks the photo, not the camera.

comparisons aside, the A500 is a very capable camera. 1st thing you need to do now is to go take a quick glance on the manual that came with the camera, learn about its functions and then go right out and have fun with the camera. shoot with it, use the functions... google terms you do not understand. and finally post up the photos here if u feel like it, we'll point out some tips for you to improve should you need, or get recognition if your work is good.
