Yea, actually based on focus point, unless you set it to 3D tracking or Face Detection, or whatever your camera brand calls it.
For photo, DSLR can achieve it easily because it's AF is fast and the performance is fast, you can spam shutter as well.

For digital camera, when you click the shutter key, it take some time to record down the image and process it, etc. In low lights, it's even worst. But I think phone camera/compact camera may not really need it much for stills as the depth of field is much wider, unlike DSLR.

u can't imagine how narrow the depth of field of a phone can be....

U have a better idea if you are regular N8 thread reader... Nokia Gallery... thumbup.gif laugh.gif

More through N9 hands on. Its Vietnamese tho.

I can see Skype integration in the messaging menu. This leads me to believe that this phone will have deep integration with Skype, like N900. Surely a plus for me, as I'm going overseas to further my study in the future.

Nokia N9, I'm Sold! Now where do I pre-order this beast hmm...

Yea, but many already jump ship to SE; They refuse to look back already, and very hard to accept or change again. That's why it's very important not to do mistake or recover too late, people will remember it forever even tough things have change, it's hard to people to change back.

I read gsmarena, I think they wrote N91 has one of the best speaker/sound; Can't remember.
5800 another strong point is the price; Back then, it was one of the cheapest smartphones that you can get, plus it has GPS hardware, so can use Garmin.

The design looks different from N9; more like N8 or E7 with flat out qwerty.
Those who like N9 sleek design might not have same feel for this?
88 series is crazy, haha; And I think there's no smartphones for 88 series right?

Nice too. Meego UI is already a nice enough treat. The design aint so bad anyway. N900 users sure know how to compromise on design for using such a bulky device. biggrin.gif

It's a developers device.
Either you register for MeeGo or Nokia developers account & apply for the phone or wait till the phone appear in ebay.

I got developer account since some time back. How to apply for this phone? biggrin.gif

I wonder if Apple is gonna file a lawsuit against Nokia or Meego for copying the way it navigates through the menu as well as the press-hold to activate the delete action for task manager. Or maybe that's why Nokia is waiting for it's lawsuit to end against Apple so that they get to use some iOS features for free during settlement talk.

Swipe to close... That's A FIRST in smartphone. You only need a menu, task manager and a reminder... Hmmm, hmmmm, hmmmmm,...

Did I miss anything important? One would have wonder how Nokia fortune might be if they had this shit a year ago. Definitely not something that wow, but nevertheless comparable to the competition.

I have to applaud Nokia for the phone assembly, it's so Apple'ish. No creaks, no edges, just one smooth piece of classy engineering.

Sometimes Nokia really make you wanna bash them even more. They already think home screen is not important, and yet go all the way to implement a home screen that sucks under S3. It's really clean n yet simple like iOS. Those Symbian freaks should thank Elop for wiping Nokia ass clean from these idiotic Symbian coder.

Seriously BuFung, I don't know where did u get the idea, the design of iPod nano touch and N9 is similar? So far, I could only see you response to this, but I haven't encounter other comments bout the similarity in design of N9 and iPod nano. hurm.

Actually quite same lor, just elongated. But that's also why I'm impressed.

Added on June 21, 2011, 8:30 pmBufung,

That's not what I meant. If you play zerokbom's YouTube link and fast forward it to 9:04, take a look at the press-hold to activate the delete action for task manager, it's all to similar to iOS multi tasking. Nokia win Apple for how it handle multi tasking, maybe Apple would want revenge now that there are striking similarity.

Now that Nokia has this as the UI, I really wonder if any N900 user will ever want to buy one.

Gone are the desktop like tablet, all they have now is just row after row of icons, row after row of task, row after row of reminder... you dont call it a TABLET now do you? Must be a big disappointment for Maemo fans.

Yes; This doesn't look like Maemo at all; The icons looks like Anna?
As mentioned before, this looks like a "refined" N8, just lacks the camera; In fact, it should have come earlier a year ago as you mentioned, as the N8. Imagine this with N8 camera, launched last year.

By the way, this isn't the actual MeeGo... this is the Maemo6/Harmattan, said to be MeeGo Compatible. After this, will be should be the actual MeeGo device.....

It doesn't need the current N8's camera to be success.. a camera in phone just another function in a phone...

the N8 camera module will make the phone look thicker and uglier...

today ppl more focus on it internet integrity .. that is what actually Nokia always said.. but didn't do so well now a day... "Connecting People"....

I did not follow any Meego/Maemo news at all, because I never expect them to support them well after my fiasco with 7710.

The simplicity of this is really on par with iOS, I would say. Its just so simple, that they really have nothing much to show, BUT the camera has touch focus.

WTH!!! Even N8 does not have touch focus. Not sure whats more to come from it, but I really wonder if Nokia can really live it up and get some serious developers to deliver the apps needed for it to thrive. Otherwise this is just another SHOWOFF product by Nokia, showing the world what they can do with it and yet failing to deliver it yet again.

true like what Andy said.. this N9 is just "Meego base" product.. it is not MeeGo itself..
