Hey guys wish to ask a couple of questions bout this phone before getting 1.

1 does the multitouch screen allow pinch zoom function on browser and viewing pictures?

2 is the ring volume and call volume loud? Cause my x10 are too soft its irritating

3 the froyo firmware does it have function to sync Facebook photos to contact? I think I read some where it canjust wanna confirm.

I'm currently using x10 and the slow firmware update wait game is getting on my nerves also the soft volume issue

Cheers

XDA is down since yesterday sad.gif

Btw, I managed to root my wife's HTC Legend and installed CM6 (aka Azure 1.0.1) on it - nice smile.gif it's easier to use than I thought - APN is loaded automatically, no bug and good performance. It's more like a "minimalist" ROM so you need to spend some time downloading apps and widgets from Market

At least it gives me some time to play around with this legendary ROM as I am still reluctant to move away from AuraXTsense for my Desire happy.gif

I used my Desire for 3 months on stock 2.1 before finally rooted and flashed custom froyo ROM, been almost 1 month on custom ROM and no regret and will never regret until 1 day I brick my phone laugh.gif (Chances are minimal if you follow the procedures)

1) With A2SD+, i have 130++ apps/games installed and still have 60MB++ on internal memory drool.gif
2) Ability to use apps which is for rooted phones only (Titanium backup, shootme etc). These apps give you very useful features brows.gif
3) Can change standard font which looks dull and boring to me. whistling.gif
4) Ability to have custom boot animation on startup. icon_idea.gif
5) More flexibility to customize ur homescreen where you can use Mod widgets rclxms.gif

And few more not mentioned here icon_rolleyes.gif

Guys I wanna ask, if I choose to root my desire for the ap2sd feature, is it possible to have the same interface(stock 2.2) that I'm currently having? means I only want ap2sd feature and not to keep on flashing my phone. Any input will be appreciated smile.gif

Actually I really wanna root my desire but damn scared of bricking it  cry.gif

You can't install directly since it's system app. You have to use adb command to push the apk to /system/app/

Another option is to re-package the ROM zip file to include those apk in, but you need to skip validation while flashing

Ya the problem for un rooted device like mine have internal storage problem, just waiting more apps to upgrade to move to SD capable....

Anyway I still using the to stock 2 gb memory card.....

Come to decision to buy either a 8gb class2 card (RM 55), a class 10 8gb card (RM 91) or a class 10 16 gb card (RM 141).

Please advise

8gb class 10 is more than enough.
16gb a bit too much. I sold that off.

You can read guide on ADB here
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-se...ndroid-devices/

For second method - it's easier, just extract the ROM zip, put the apk files into /system/app, zip again - then flash the ROM

Managed to root my Desire which is running on OTA SEA Froyo (w/ HBOOT 0.93). I used Unrevoked 3.21 which is in beta right now. If you can't wait for the official release of 3.21, you can go to their IRC chat (channel: #unrevokedtest). The download link will be right at the top of the chat window.

I thought everyone who got the OTA for SEA got HBOOT 0.93?

My unit is AMOLED BTW. We're talking abt rooting only, not flashing custom ROM, so whether AMOLED or SLCD shouldn't matter.
