QUOTE(sching @ Aug 19 2010, 09:04 PM) How is the sound quality for Desire? I saw the original earphone and wasn't too happy to see it. I prefer those in-ear ones. Any other compatible earphones for desire? Which works best with the phone? It supports any 3.5mm jack... so it will still work with your sennheiser earpiece I think the sound quality (if you're talking about the loud speaker or the call quality) is decent without being too outstanding |

I've been having problem logging in to Google Talk in my hotel wifi and office wifi in Ireland... Wondering if it is blocked or what? There's no problem logging in to GTalk via my PC though
Also, in KL I can login to GTalk via my home wifi or 3G connection, but having problem connecting to GTalk via my KL office Wifi So can I confirm that Gtalk doesn't really work for certain wifi connections? |

bryan_823 - for some reasons many developers don't recommend an ext3 partition more than 512MB...
I've had it set to 768MB but I saw in QuickSystem Info it's only 688MB - no idea why. But still it's very fast to me and no issue using it |

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Aug 20 2010, 04:40 PM) QUOTE(chding @ Aug 20 2010, 04:41 PM) I have to agree that NextSense 5.3 battery life is superb and that's why I'm a bit reluctant to switch to other ROMs now It really just drops 2-3% for the whole night if I switch off Mobile Data connection, and the drop is not as sharp as compare to the previous version of ROM if I actually use my phone to surf net QUOTE(chding @ Aug 20 2010, 05:50 PM) Not much difference to me even I'm using .20QUOTE(volcane @ Aug 20 2010, 04:49 PM) It is not Gtalk doesn't really work for certain wifi connections. The WiFi network admin decided to block the port for GTalk. Good to know, though I am still curious why there isn't problem for me connecting via PC using the same wifi connection |

QUOTE(wcyly @ Aug 20 2010, 07:31 PM) Tried to google for a definitive answer on this issue but still a bit confused in the end: Just re-flash to whatever version you wantQuestion: Does a nandroid back up back up BOTH your ROM & Radio? Answer seems to be NO, it only backs up image of ROM, not Radio. This is important because we all do a nandroid backup, together with titanium backup and/or mybackup pro, when we root and upgrade from Eclair to Froyo. But upgrading to Froyo is not only about upgrading the ROM but also upgrading the Radio. So, what is the point of doing nandroid backup if it does not also back up the radio? If, for whatever reason, we want to downgrade back to the nandroid version of ROM we saved before we upgraded to Froyo, we still would not be able to downgrade to radio (maybe for warranty purposes?). So how? Where can we then get back our old version of Radio for warranty purposes? Anybody here can help shed some light on this? I'm a little bit confused. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464 And I think flashing the RUU (Stock HTC ROM) will replace your radio back as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667 This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 20 2010, 07:37 PM |

As far as I remember, Bravo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.7 has hboot 0.80
I flashed that build before (to unroot) and remember quite well that it's hboot 0.80 but I can't 100% confirm |

I got it working at first but after playing around with it for a while (removing / adding it) the events disappeared. QUOTE(chding @ Aug 21 2010, 12:52 AM) Okay, my problem is, when I enable the "Malaysian Holidays" (under Other Calendars if you go to the real Google calendar in your PC), I won't be able to see any holiday events there - it is however shown in the PC version of Google Calendars. There is also no problem syncing with my main Google Calendar (the one which I can edit), only problem when I'm using shared "Other Calendars"Did some Googling - and found this http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Goog...a0433041a&hl=en Am just wondering if any of you use Google Calendar and got any idea to rectify it (edit: I end up settling with exporting the iCal file (holidays from 2009 to 2012) and importing it manually to Google Calendar, and it works) This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 21 2010, 01:15 AM |

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Aug 21 2010, 02:16 AM) You mean reflash my rom again (I'm not NextSense 5.3) with my old sdcard plugged in and then replace my new sdcard and see it'll boot up? Was thinking about using the new SD card for flashing actually (you can copy the Titanium Backup folder from old card to new card and restore)But yeah, either way as long as it works, I haven't encountered your issue before so I'm not exactly sure how to fix |

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Aug 21 2010, 02:36 AM) samurai1337, Good to know that! You're da man! You helped saved my phone. Here's what I did: 1. Copy all contents from the old sdcard 2. Paste all contents to the new sdcard 3. Reboot to recovery 4. Factory wipe. It says no app2sd found 5. Wipe cache 6. Install from zip file (NextSense 5.3) 7. Booted into the ROM! Now restoring all the lost apps. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT! QUOTE(yeokeeyie @ Aug 21 2010, 02:43 AM) No need partition also can use NextSense 5.3 - I'm assuming pennywise is going to use Froyo's native A2SD rather than A2SD+ from the ROM. But Neophyte claimed that you may encounter slowness of the ROM though (maybe because of the location dalvik cache is stored?)QUOTE(maliqu3 @ Aug 21 2010, 02:55 AM) hey, good for you. yeah right, rooting is much better than not to root. coz even if u are on official froyo, you will still end up lacking of memory space. so, Just Root It! (sounds like nike, doesnt it? Yeah, actually when I first rooted I was just intending to get the Froyo OTA that SEA users didn't get (we're still waiting now!), but the benefits are actually far more than that! |

QUOTE(johnsontys @ Aug 21 2010, 01:29 PM) Have you ever wonder, when you click on "Phone", it shows the history of call made, received, missed call. As far as I understand it will store in phone memory (or sd-ext maybe for custom ROM), you wouldn't want your SMS/calls history lost if you mount your SD to PC as disk drive right? I have the following questions 1. How long does the history goes back, 30 days? 2. Where does the history being stored? SD card or Phone - I used my phone for business and I have an enormous list of calls made, received and so on...would that affect the speed of the phone and storage as well? 3. Is there a way we could limit the setting of the history to past week only? or can we set it up to store the history in the SD Card? Thanks for your help You can limit your SMS in the default SMS application (I'm sure Handcent can do it too), and for calls history, although I don't see any such options but: - I *believe* Android only keeps 500 calls - You can always hit delete all if it's really accumulating a lot - You can use third party app called "Call Logs Backup & Restore" to do backup By the way, on battery life - the Mobile Data thingy is REALLY a battery killer, I'm currently in oversea so I turn it off all the time. I had my battery fully charged 3 hours ago - and it just drops 1% few minutes ago after I connected to wifi twice for some quick tasks (syncing and stuffs). Or probably it's because NextSense 5.3 is really efficient in power management? Mind you that I don't even underclock it! I better don't say too much cos KTCY will say I'm a Neophyte fanboy again This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 21 2010, 01:48 PM |

QUOTE(bryan_823 @ Aug 21 2010, 01:56 PM) Can't help you on widget locker as I don't use it.I use MarketEnabler to access paid apps, but in Market it only actually displays Free Apps unless you search the app itself by keying in the keyword. So for that matter I use AppBrain to browse thru paid apps. Also, for Google Checkout (the payment method), I chose Sweden as my credit card country as US seems to do some extra verification on the card info. |

QUOTE(kazami @ Aug 21 2010, 03:14 PM) No solution I think, since applications are all linux based. If your concern is battery, just switch to flight mode before you sleep. It won't use much battery if you leave it overnight |
