there few things a bit weird bout csl shops.my friend survey a phone(csl) few months ago at snway pyramid,then we go to summit usj its rm100 cheaper,im 70% sure its the same model .

im not sure bout summit usj.bcause buy a ps3,xbox360,game devices there ,cannot be trusted at all
i survey again tomoorow,if no choice then summit la

After using it as my main phone for ~3weeks, here's my main concern about this particular unit I own.

It will randomly shutdown when I'm not using it. This is a concern in case of emergency when someone wants to reach me.

Note, my unit may have been damaged (dropped by my son while playing with it), so the random shutdown I suspect could be loose battery connection.

No biggie really, coz it just needs to be rebooted.

I just want to check if anyone else have the same thing happening to their brand new units.

I guess I might have to send it in for repairs/warranty.

Otherwise, it's a great device for checking the office email.

Sorry I did not ask about the yearly subscription of Mapking. All I know is that you can keep using it if you do not want the new updated map.

Tested and confirmed, rooting method works. ME now works and Paid Apps is available.

Payment by CC is available although not sure if my localbank CC works. There is no "Malaysia" option in the Payment List. SOLVED; http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1211665

Perhaps vckc4ever could put the rooting instructions in the first post like the other threads.

This thread not so active like others .....but I'm sure it will be hot in couple of weeks soon as we can see more new owners are coming in here.

The problem is that a lot of potential buyer tends to compare the MI700 to others CSL phone which have bad reputation.

What they don't know is that the MI700 is a totally different product and it's made by Foxconn with minor customization fit to CSL order eventhough the warrenty sticker stated "Made By CSL".

Imagine, just after 2 weeks, our own Malaysian people has managed to "root" the device.

Within the next few weeks, I'm sure it can be overclocked and within next few months, who knows the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy Tab ROM could be ported to this device !!

I'm sure lots of app will be developed to suit Galaxy Tab screen size resolution which indirectly will benefit the MI700.

Hey..even the internal Facebook app in MI700 detected the device as Samsung Galaxy Tab !!

Hehehe...not so active, due to I don't really go online that often and opened this thread last time, due to curious about "our" local brand CSL having their own tablet.

Glad that at least this thread..have regular update and feedback for all of us to share, compare and discuss about MI700..

After some struggle and help from Erlern and Abasir, finally got my Droidpad rooted. The rooting was easy but steps 5, 6 & 7 using dos in the command prompt was the tough part as I don't use dos just windows, u know click click click only. Scrolling, pinch & zoom and some application are smoother less jerky now. Hopefully can help prolong my battery life. Now learning how to use Move2sd, maybe some sifu can help to free some phone memory.

Today went to LowYat and bought a proper car charger outputting at 2A @ 5 volts. Very satisfied with the performance as battery indicator shows increase battery % instead of decreasing % using the pre-package charger. It is a china clone made for Black Berry phones costing only RM 30/- only. Now I don't have to worry about battery life while on the move. Life is wonderful again.

it seem this tablet has alot positive review ..

wanna know how is mapking? reliable? got voice navigation?
after 1 year need pay how much to continue use?

Never like using Mapking the map is outdated and always choose the wrong route for me. Don't know how much per year but if u don't update the map can use forever. I am using Papago only problem the screen is not full screen but usable, I love using it, never go lost with it. Maybe later they will come out with a proper full screen resolution for this device as the Samsung Galaxy Tab gain popularity.

so papago can b use on this device? awesome ;D..not full screen so hog big is it? half of the screen size?

Slighty more half. It is X5 only portrait mode.
