Csl got promotion now at lyp. 1599 plus a lot of free gift. I already tested. Not smooth like ipad. Flash website cannot open eventhough using froyo 2.2. Build quality quite good. Pinch and zoom not so smooth. Feel laggy for certain apps. For me , better wait galaxy tab for comparison.

I was told the droidpad cant support video calling yet. Is it true?
Has anyone of u tried video calling b4?

I have only tried the test video call in fring. It is working fine in the test video call. I have not tried video call with any fring contact yet.

@cwleong Perhaps you can PM me your Fring ID for our video testing and update all those wanting to know if it can do video call.

Added on October 7, 2010, 5:04 pmcannot compare with Galaxy Tab which will cost more than RM1k higher than Spice Droidpad.

Btw..the Pinch & Zoom is actually very smooth...u just need to wait till the webpages loaded fully before doing the Pinch & Zoom. Apps opens up quickly...no issue as I have tested with lots of apps.

No Flash support yet due to the 600mHz chipset limitation...but future rooting might possible just able to install it via the Flash 10.1 APK.

Galaxy Tab easily beat CSL hands down.. the quality almost as good as ipad ...But you have to shell out almost 3k for it. Which I think is overpriced.

Anybody able to root it yet to install Flash 10.1 apk inside? I want to buy and play Facebook game on it...

rooting not sure..But flash 10 is not possible have to wait for flashlite 4.x..

Install Skyfire Browser ..... U can get it from Android Market ...... U will b able to play FB games ......

Video Call On Droidpad Update

Tried with raoul but was unsuccessful, the audio was very noisy and cracky, video wise, I only saw some cars on the road as raoul was driving and his camera was set on the back camera and not the front.

Tried again with my son's iphone4, I told him to dl Fring from apple store. Both Droidpad and Iphone4 on wifi, audio was manageable but video is laggy and jerky. With Iphone4 on 3g both audio and video same quality as wifi. You see Fring give this as free service but they just introduced Fring Out service which is a paid service, US 1-3 cents per minutes and they promised better audio and video.

Conclusion, yes Droidpad can do video calls but the Fring free service is something to be desired meaning u r discouraged to use because of its poor quality. Their trick is u be forced to switch to fring out, the paid service. Better wait for Skype video call on android as they just introduced audio call on android.

i might getting it tomorrow,wish can wait till flash coming!~ is the only cons for me without flash~ very thx Q for all information, i READ all!! lolx

Yahoo videochat : Apple has based a great deal of its iPhone 4 marketing blitz around its so-called FaceTime video calling technology.

But Yahoo is about to challenge Apple for the mobile video calling crown, with plans to brings video chat to iPhones and Android-based phones via its popular Yahoo Messenger instant messaging service.

During a briefing with Reuters on Thursday, David Katz, Yahoo’s VP of Mobile for the Americas region, let it slip that the company will soon be offering mobile app versions of Yahoo Messenger with built-in video calling capabilities.

Tried the CSL Android Tablet today at CSL Roadshow at Sunway Pyramid.

It is running Android 2.2. Not bad.

So can it play flash files or not? Dis is so confusing

Tried on lowyat today, kinda laggy even after using static wallpaper when scrolling around

if the price can be lower, definitely a good buy

not fully support flash 10.1 because I cant browser normal youtube site.

anyone where manage to play flv file? what program should I use?

just bought it yesterday... quite okay for tablet from CSL. on android froyo 2.2.
