Bought one at Lowyat roadshow on Saturday. So far I am happy with it. The response is fast, the screen display is acceptable. A bit of lag when I view pictures. Able to access and download from the Android market. Able to go into Youtube and view videos. I am totally new to Android and it is fun to learn many new things. I chose this over the Ipad because of the formfactor. Ipad is too big and heavy for me. And I already have an Iphone 3gs which is like a smaller Ipad.

Maybe TS can update the owner list on 1st page

Perhaps we could organize a gathering soon somewhere in KL/PJ and contact CSL to sponsor some freebies since we're doing some form of marketing for them smile.gif

It seems that power charging driven from the car power outlet insufficient to fully charged the Spice. The GPS uses power way faster than charging.

Not recommended to use it as full-time dedicated GPS as the unit will be very hot.

That car charger in the Droidpad package is not the correct car charger. Before this I am using the same charger in my car for another handphone bought for RM 10/- and it is for charging batteries of not more than 500 mha. The Droidpad battery is more than 4300 mha how to charge with such a low capacity charger.

Either CSL or the dealer has pull a fast one on to customers like us, real cheap sakes. If u want to charge in the car then it is advisable to purchase a proper charger to match the high capacity of the the Droidpad battery.

yes some of the phone are bad, but for this mi700 it's quote good because it use the same OEM tablet as view sonic viewpad7, olivepad, chamangi and etc...

yes can use 3g, this tablet can insert simcard. if you didnt subscribe data plan for ur sim card, then u'll get charge per kb. if you subscribe the data plan from maxis, digi or celcom, you can refer to respective page for the charge rate.

and of course this tablet can make call.

this tablet is diff from the one that u shown. this tablet can make calls, using os froyo 2.2, the best is it has local warranty.

I think their engineer or R&D unit have their own study before releasing them.
The car charger may not enuf to fully charge but it can make the tablet keep alive with the supply of the current.
I my self not going to make the table permanent in car, just that whenever I go out driving like 1 to 2 hours, I may attach the tablet and use them for media entertainment or following online news/feed or even followup/listen to video/audio guide or something smile.gif

anyway I did notice there are little hole on upper left and right side of the panel. seem like to hanging with something?

I remember reading the 2 holes on the top next to the speakers are meant for accessories makers to attach their pads/plastic covers onto the Droidpad.

Added on October 12, 2010, 5:57 pmI think the Droidpad needs to have a proper car charger and not use the one provided in the package.

Pre-packaged one outputs at 500 mA, ie 0.5 Amp at 5 volts.

Proper one should outputs at 2 Amp at 5 volts (same as the house charger) ie 4 times the power of the pre-packaged one.

Went to Mid Valley to check on car charger, found the proper one outputting at 2 Amp at 5 volts costing RM 69. Did not buy for I think Low Yat should sell cheaper. Will pick one in Low Yat on the next trip there as the heavy use in the car makes it a must in any outstation trip.

Shark buy from csl authorized reseller n you will get all the freebies . Just check it up at their web all the resellers. Check the star paper few days back big advert bring it along and show them as all the feebies is listed in the advert

iPad battery easily last 10 hours . The salesgirl has zero knowledge obviously about iPad. The csl should last at least 5 hours

I had bad experience buying from the shops in Low Yat. My trouble started with changing the 4G to 16G sd card. That stupid sales rep did not copy all the files (miss those hidden files) from the original 4G sd to the new 16G sd, resulting in my GPS Mapking not functioning. I had to go back the next day only to have the sale rep telling me to send it to the CSL service center also in Low Yat luckily. Fortunately, that Mr. Chin from the service center was very helpful and I got it fixed the same day. Now I now that it is better to buy with local warranty if not u may have to wait a few weeks to get it fix with other brands.
