now i cud use the iPad as like a HUGE gps in the car. but got no holder in the car yet thou, so it sits on my lap when i drive.

wonder will the iPad screen be effected in any way if it were to experience direct sunlight? blink.gif

Just tried to update a new iPad. The firmware 3.2.2 update downloaded and was updating the iPad on iTunes when the iPad blacked out (I thought it was on power screen save or something) and itunes popped out a message with an error.

Now, the iPad won't turn on at all. Even when I reset (10 secs on wake/power and home button) or when I do a DFU boot or recovery boot.

Initially iTunes said there was a problem and it said to do a restore. Which I proceeded to do. After a while, there was an error and the iPad is still stuck on the same.

Uninstalled iTunes, reinstalled it again. And now iTunes doesn't detect it on the program, though it does show new hardware on windows and all. And even detects another iPad on the program with another iPad.

From a certain angle, I can sort of make out on the screen the usb cable to plug in for iTunes screen. But it never changes. Other then that, its generally just a black screen.

Help! And thanks in advance.

Added on September 14, 2010, 2:06 amupdate: managed to get it to try and restore again. But it gets stuck on "preparing ipad for restore" and after a while an error 1601 comes out.

I use airvideo to convert. Or you can use OPlayer HD to upload the video in their native format and watch them on ipad.

Hey guys...

I got big problem with my iPad.
I bought it from USA and now I am in Malaysia.

You know where I can send it in for warranty or repair? Malaysia? Singapore? Bought it for like 2 months...

Well, I also donno what happened. Day before was enjoying it.... I play it none stop, wife play it none stop (new game download, Isabella, The curse of the Witch something...)...
So, yesterday... didn't touch until midnight. After back up and install new games, I tried to check it out. And damn. This thing showed.

I left my iPad at home when I went to work yesterday. My wife didn't touch it but day cleaner came and cleaned the house. Probably they dropped it or knocked it or whatever. No prove of this.
But checking the iPad and casing, no dent no scratch no nothing.
And like my friend says, the fault is too "clean" to be accident.

Wow, that is shocking. But I don't see it's possible to become like it without something happen.
It does look like a drop or something.
