Well, based on the explanations,

QUOTE

Creates a VIRTUAL EXT2 filesystem inside the stock RFS filesystem on the internal SD card, with a 4KB block size. This means that this lag fix creates a buffer between the real filesystem and the android system. This buffer should reduce the amount of disk I/O required for all operations by utilizing EXT2 buffering, as well as not writing file access times to disk, etc.

ENDQUOTE

So, if u can speed up the read & writes, yr system will perform better.

For a PC in Windows OS, say Vista or XP or 7, the more RAM u have, the faster the OS runs as the OS will use available RAM to cache yr reads and writes instead of writing directly to HDD.

Hope this explains.

My 5cents worth of explaining "how to increase read/write performance...." tongue.gif

Ran quadrant again, this time i got 2251!! tongue.gif

If u run quadrant over and over again, yr score will go higher until a certain peak is reached. This is bcoz, now all the files that is required to be used is already in the cache!

As explain in my previous post.

Try it yrself.

It should. But I use Titanium Backup for my Apps+Data and My Backup for SMS/MMS. Never had much luck restoring my SMS/MMS using Titanium Backup. Be careful when restoring your system settings under My Backup if you have done additional fixes such as lagfix 2.3 or mimocan's fix. tongue.gif

i still do not understand the .nomedia file extension to disable media scanning.

Any bro here using this way to avoid folder scanning?

I don';t want to show xx folder in my external sd card. Inside xx, there is 100 files of jpeg. what should i do next?

I put xx.nomedia in external sd card, it doesnt' work. But i think i totally wrong.

Kindly advise

not xx.nomedia, create a file name .nomedia in the folder which you dont want those stuff to show in ur gallery or music player

Well, for me, with the lagfix I no longer get those annoying black screens when switching/launching apps. Previously, with mimocan's fix, it was ok at first, then it started to slow down - the pauses and black screens started happening again. It really is quite crap since the Desire doesn't seem to be plagued by this. Oh well.

The score on lagfix is not accurate, don't even bother too much about the score.
