i need to say bye bye to my apps and contacts =( sad!!

Apps and contacts, once u upgrade firmware.
Go to market and it will show u ur previously installed apps and u can install them again.

For contacts, export them as someone has said here and save it to ur internal SD card.

Actually a very easy way to backup ur contact is export the contact to a single vcf file that will be store in your /sdcard, the vcf will keep every thing appear in ur contact including the contact photo. Of course u need to keep the vcf file somewhere else
*
Yep, you can export it into a vcf then send it to your own Gmail account as an attachement. Storage in the cloud, baby! thumbup.gif

Please share your preferred brand with reasons why you chose one over the other. We can all accept constructive criticisms. rclxms.gif

it's not an option and it only works on the first time u enter market after u flash.

After u flash, go to "download" and all ur previously downloaded apps are listed there.
Just download all, then only close the market app. Else u lose the link.

It should. But I use Titanium Backup for my Apps+Data and My Backup  for SMS/MMS. Never had much luck restoring my SMS/MMS using Titanium Backup. Be careful when restoring your system settings under My Backup if you have done additional fixes such as lagfix 2.3 or mimocan's fix. tongue.gif

I didn't root my handset.
So, no lagfix.

yeah make sure u didnt close the market after each app download. u will lose the list if close between download. u can press home button but dont press back button.
alternatively u can use appbrain apps to save your installed apps.

JP3 CAN BE ROOT, it just not straight foward, like putting update.zip or one-click, you can also download paul-modaco JP3 firmware, it already pre-root
