QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Apr 7 2011, 08:24 AM) You need to enable AHCI under the windows registry first. Then you can only enable AHCI under the bios. If bios does not have AHCI, then you might to either update your bios or install Intel Matrix Storage or AHCI driver downloaded from your respective motherboard brand website. oh relli?then i will try later~~thx This post has been edited by chenhui87: Apr 7 2011, 10:27 AM

I found the root cause of the SSD and adapter problem. 1) adapter detect the SSD for 1st time before intialize 2) adapter detect the SSD after intialized and formatted, copy files all ok 3) adapter failed to detect the SSD the 2nd time plug in to SATA or USB external. 4) The adapter failed to ocnvert voltage. SSD still ok. (tested with Caddy 2.5 converter). Summary, Cap ayam adapter doesnt convert voltage to 3.3v instead to 5v. Some said it will affect the SSD, no, SSD are durable, tested with correct adapter and it works. Just ordered 5 Unit of Caddy 2.5 adapter. Can be used for desktop and laptop as (internal and external). Make ur orders now price :RM125 only. This post has been edited by ksp_tech: Apr 7 2011, 10:56 PM

guys..new SSD user here.
It's blazing fast after 1 week plus of usage. Then couple of days ago. I noticed some noticeable delay @ the screen where windows logo is pulsing.
(previously, once those 4 colored orbs combined, it'll go straight to windows logon page and straight into desktop without even pulsing)
So its around 5-10 secs extra of pulsing on that screen. So I went into the delete temporary files/cache on the drive and cleared it.
After that no more problem. Wanna ask if this is normal ?

Exit all Windows-based programs. 2. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. 3. If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue. 4. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci
5. In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify. 6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK. 7. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor
Restart and go into the BIOS and make the changes from IDE to AHCI and restart and away you go.
can u pass error checking and benchmark with Crystaldiskmark and HDTune?

can u pass error checking and benchmark with Crystaldiskmark and HDTune? yes i have follow exactly what u mentioned, [Start] value set from [3]>[0], then restart and set from IDE>AHCI, then restart and it stuck at the [Detecting IDE Drives] for around 10 minutes. After i revert the settings, the boot up back to normal again (no stuck at detecting drives screen) i will post the error checking and benchmarking result later and i noticed the restart time is almost same compare to mt previous WD HDD (56 Seconds with games and apps installed) and SSD now (55 Seconds without games and apps) This post has been edited by Hawaiiii: Apr 9 2011, 09:17 AM

It might be due to its drive is not updated too.. You can always check back your motherboard update. O ya, and apply this forumer's suggestion above as well.. I also did the same way when I'm having problem turning to AHCI mode. XD

The problem is, the boot up time does not as fast as it should be, the windows welcome screen is still loading long. And if i switch to ahci mode, it is more worst now trying to reinstall windows.
