memkingdom sells them,be wary though as on some systems it won't work [at least that's what the SSD seller told me happened to his other customer]

I strongly believe it's the adapter issues like what I encountered just recently.
it will work like 2-3 times then kaput. I got one adapter which is very durable and working until now, slightly different from the problematic ones.
Too bad don't have any extra for sale. But i can source for it thru my supplier.
thankyou

Hawaiiii... I have buyer complains about the converter too....

I've currently bulk purchased a branded converter just to make sure there's no complains for my future customers...

Should have extra units... if you are interested.. you can let me know..

Hmm, I've ordered this adapter:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Has anyone else tried this one before? I can't use the non-caddy adapter types because Dell's HDD slot will only ngam ngam fit a 2.5 inch drive.

Does anyone know if the Intel 160GB SSDs have any spare area or over-provisioning? If they're using 16GB chips and there are only ten of them, the SSDs have a maximum of 160GB capacity. Converting that 160GB into GiB gives me 149GiB, which is the stated user capacity. There isn't any inaccessible capacity for over-provisioning.

Compare that with the 300GB SSDs, which have twenty chips and thus 320GB, meaning 20GB is inaccessible.

It seems to me that the 160GB, and the 80GB by the same logic, doesn't have any over-provisioning. But I haven't been able to find literature to confirm it.

Added on April 4, 2011, 6:56 pmSilly me. The NAND chips were 16GiB and not 16GB. Problem explained.
