Damn you Air Asia for sucking money out of me.

Check in #1, 24 hours before flight, party of 5. Auto seat assignment on an almost full plane puts us in groups of 2+3 ten rows apart. There were 3 empty rows at the back, why didn't they put us together? Who knows.

Check in #2, almost 1 week before flight, party of 5. Auto seat assigment puts us in groups of 3+1+1 in three separate rows almost all over the plane. The plane was almost empty, only 2-3 rows taken up. Auto seat assignment was intelligent enough to make sure we had to pay RM5 per seat to get our group together.

Damn you Air Asia and your hidden charges built into the system, are you going to be as bad as Ryanair?

hai, i agree with tishaban.

i book BKK-CM flight. Now i see something called "VALUE ADDED TAX" - what the heck is this? It's not airport tax which is a separate item.

This "VALUE ADDED TAX" is added twice - once for the ticket price and another time for the luggage+convenience (such a lie) part.

Who knows what is 'VALUE ADDED TAX' - i dont feel as if i've got any value. Feel ripped off actually

Normal-lah..Last time I argued wth the check-in staff and their attitude haizzz...Got money also they dunwan to sell the seat! Wan money only...Those hot seat if you dun pay for it and if it's empty & you try to sit there..They will chase you out sad.gif

The only way for me..put up a thick face & switch seat wth those single travelers sad.gif ..Sometime, I still prefer the old way ..que up early and rush for the seats biggrin.gif

Some time back, queued up near front of line with my 83 y.o. mom. As we were passing through the entrance, a group of rough male bumpkins from China pushed her aside and elbowed their way in, almost knocked her over, right where the staff was standing and staff did nothing. Whatever you say, the present system is better.

Hey guys,

Can I book AA airticket for my friend using my own credit card but the Guest name is my friend?!
In other words, can my friends/parents/family book airticket for me?!

Do I need to do any verification thingy on the check in counter besides than showing them the booking number?!

FYI Ryan Air is operating based on free seating, i was caught by surprise when i first took Ryan Air laugh.gif

At the very least RA do not weight your cabin luggage, as long as the size of the luggage clear their restriction.

the last time i fly to from leeds to barcelona via RA back in July the toilet is still available for free

I thought i had to pay too but it was not lock and people were using it for free. i guess it's just another rumour of what they might do in the future to keep cost down.

So how should we key in our name in that case?

First Name: James Liang Chin
Last Name: Lee

it will turn out to be James Liang Chin, Lee in the itinerary right

Is James on your passport/birth certificate?

Official rule all over the world is, follow your passport. You family surname = LAST Name (NOT literally the last word). The rest is your FIRST name, as much as you want to fit. Be careful if they ask for a middle name. If you put BIN or the first word of your Chinese name there may be a lot of confusion when the computers alphabetize. (Note O BINLADEN, or Lee, Chin Liang) Mainland Chinese personal names are spelled only as one word with no spaces, so no confusion. Surprising how many Malaysian travel agents get it wrong on tickets and create hell for pax.

Since so much confusion with international names, I don't think they can be very strict. They will check and compare with the passport number for sure.
